birmingham

If you go to Macy's department store, make your way to the visitor information desk, and obtain an “International Savings Card” this allows you 10% of most purchases including discounted products, be sure to take some ID with you like a passport.

If you're intending on clothes shopping, make your way to Century 21 department store, opposite ground zero, some real bargains to be had, also, try Filene's basement on 47th Street, another discounted store, all the stores mentioned above offer brand names at discounted prices.

One tip, you're only allowed a certain amount of duty free when returning back to the UK, if your purchases are above the limit, destroy your receipts and be sure to remove any sales tags

Enjoy your trip

Just remember to take tags and packing off and pretend you have had them ages so you avoid paying uk duty.

there's rows of shops all the way uop from grand central station going north.good for shoes, luxury goods etc - scott shops are in the upper 40's - from where you are a 5 min walk from Bloomingdales.

Eat at the oyster Bar in the basement of Grand central too - the place is legendary and the foood fantastic - freash sea food, oysters and chowders. Just the kind of thing for a healthy build up og much needed protein for your lucky squeeze.
