I very much like radiators and my favourite setting is max. And then use the thermostat to keep it a nice temperature.

Being a frugal Yorkshire man with access to as much free bottled gas as i can consume we have a couple of "calor" gas heaters that we use when we're awake and the central heating is set to 20°c to keep the chill off through the night.
