Do you like fat men?

Do you think on a site like fab, being fat or chubby impacts your chances of success?

And men, how do you feel about your body?

Not at all. It's facial attraction, personality and skillset that's important. Loads of popular guys in the clubs have larger dads bods, the ladies love that they can make them orgasm, not whether he can do the truffle shuffle

Physical attractiveness heavily influences your chances on here. It most certainly gets your foot in the door. How one makes use of that opportunity will dictate success. So yes, I believe men who ate not physically in shape will have a tougher time.

I'm very happy with how I look just being shy of 50. Then again, I do ascribe to the notion that my body is a temple, and I treat it as such

I personally love men with a bit more to them.

My type seems to be rugby player more than gym bod.

More to kiss, more to touch.

It really all does come down personalities in the end.

I'm attracted to personality more than what a body looks like. X

Ignoring the "define success" voice that's screaming in the back of my mind: yes, somewhat. All else equal, a more conventionally attractive body type probably "does better" - especially since many people are looking for a stunt cock, so they aren't necessarily looking too deeply.

I like my body 🙂 it's pretty great. I get to do almost everything I fantasise about, given enough patience and perseverance. I could do with losing some weight, and I could do some more exercise, but that's a "I want to see my kids grow up" thing, not a body image thing.

Enough other people like my body, or are just not that interested in what it looks like. The only thing I'm missing out on is an easier "first page of top fabbed" pic I guess? They can have that.

Ailsa is not attracted to over weight men. Neither is she attracted to gym fit men with muscles and six packs, or hairless men regardless of their body type. Show her photos of any of the above, and she will shrug and say, so what? However. Personality trumps body type every time. Meet her in person, be authentically kind, talkative, flirty and make her laugh, and she may well find you attractive, regardless of your size.

As for me, and how I feel? Illness over the last few years has taken a toll. I am not as lean or as strong as I was, and this has eroded my confidence a little bit. I keep trying to get myself back to where I was, but both time and willpower is in short supply at the moment. Maybe next year will be different. Xx

If I like someones face and smile then I don't really care about chubbiness. That can be enough to interest means I find them attractive.

Then there is chemistry too.

That can take it to a whole other level.

I do love personality and humour, but without physical attraction it means nothing. Same as good looks without personality means nothing.

And I'm attracted to the fitter guys, I want those v-lines!

No, I thought I’d open my mind and try to be attracted to men bigger than I like… I felt terrible afterwards.

You like what you like. There’s the physical attraction and the chemistry and rapport. For me it has to be slim men. Not necessarily athletic/muscly/Charles Atlas/Arnie. Slim is gorgeous

Many fat men do very well in here (I am using the word “fat” because that is what is used in the original post)

I'm a well built gentleman with a love of ale and good pork pies. Its never seemed a barrier to me as a single guy on the scene or as part of a couple. I would say I've done well on here over the years.

I think sometimes people triage the wrong attributes on here to lack of success (or even subconsciously take comfort in scapegoating physical attributes for character attributes). The reason I say this after years on the club scene there are certain gents that clean up. Now I'm not saying looking easy on the eye doesn't help. However body size, shape, size of cock etc doesn't seem to be the common denominator. Self assured confidence (not in an arrogant way), character and charm is the thing that seems to win the day. Often the guys who consistently clean up have this and tend to be all different builds and ages.

So I would say to any larger gent you are attractive and desirable if you want be. Worry less about your shape and build and more about how you present yourself, present your profile and how you interact with others. Because on here and on the scene there are some larger gents who always dress great, are confident and awesome with people. And those gents do very well and are held in high regard. Don't see your body as a barrier.

"Do you think on a site like fab, being fat or chubby impacts your chances of success?

Of course it does. Lots of people like what they like.

I prefer less fat men as I'm fat and one of us needs to be fit and bendy around the other. I also like tallER men so that I feel smaller in some way!

But with the natural development of friendships in person, these things matter less.

1) FAB isn’t as superficial as some of the other apps out there but I would say that I see a lot of profiles asking for muscular ripped physiques. So I think it likely is more difficult.

2) I love my body. I put a lot of effort into it. I do it because I enjoy it though. Playing sports, combat ones in particular and just generally feeling fit and strong feels great. It’s great for my mental health too. The endorphins post boxing/ jiu jitsu are 👍

Thank you for the responses so far. Very interesting.

I think I’ve recently started to feel that regardless of whether it matters to women or not, I love myself and my appearance enough to not be bothered. But I do find it interesting to consider the way that this site, with such a strong focus on physical attraction and sex, tends to favour particular characteristics in people. And how it plays out in the forums is interesting to see.

Of course weight is one. But I think particular personalities do better on here too. That’s for another thread though.

I think it’s quite low down on the list for most women I’ve met on here. Personality, face and charm is way more important and very few women I know are into gym bodies - some like them but not in place of personality or face.

I think being obese for a guy cuts down the chances but having dad bod or a bit overweight doesn’t really - unless it affects self-confidence & personality.

I keep my mind and body in great shape, but that’s for me not to increase my chances.

I’m a big girl, obese, fat, curvy, whatever. But I’ve reached a stage in life where I am comfortable with how I feel when naked with someone else. I’ve had several “larger than average in BMI bedmates” and have absolutely enjoyed every single ounce of ‘em and not one of those men was apologetically uncomfortable with their appearance.

In society, I’d disagree. The pressures on women around their bodies and weight are more than for men in my opinion. But this thread isn’t about that.

I think it could, sure. Some women are only attracted to a particular physique and that's fair enough.

For me? I don't really care about someone's body size/weight, bar any extremes. What I do care about? How someone feels. Acts, as in how comfortable they are with their body. If it affects how they are when with someone. I like when people have a low key self confidence, when they're comfortable and confident in who they are. That's very attractive to me.

Yeah. An overweight guy will have less luck than a muscular guy given all other things equal. Women are evolutionary hardwired to find physically incapable men more attractive.

The same is true for women, though guys are much more likely to sleep with women they find physically unattractive than the other way around, leading many women to believe that their weight makes no difference to their attractiveness.

I don't know about (1). I'm not chubby, but I guess it can affect some people's chances with some people. Much like other physical characteristics, but most threads I see say being a bit bigger isn't that much of an issue for most.

(2) I have a mixed relationship with my body. I objectively know it's fine, and I'm in good health. But I'm also pretty self-critical and would never say I'm "happy" with it.

I'm not happy with it, but I really struggle with new routines and keeping them. I'm trying my best, but I think I need help with getting into shape.

I don't really want to join a gym though, because I've found the concept extremely boring and monotonous. So I'm not sure what to do. 🤔

Have you tried the keto diet?

"Have you tried the keto diet? "

It's more the motivation than the methods. I have ADHD, so my dopamine and energy levels are super low all the time. It's a struggle to even sort out day-to-day nonsense, without adding more into the mix.

Besides, I know what works. Exercise and eating less. No need for special diets or expensive memberships to diet clubs.

I've actually done it before, last year. Lost a stone in the first month, purely eating less, drinking more water and walking more.

Went for about 3 months and then just stopped for no reason. As if I forgot all about it and reverted back to the previous lifestyle lol.

I know I can do it, but I don't know if I can ever reach the weight/size I want, given how shit I am at doing things for extended periods of time. 🤨

So yeah, it's a bit different to the average person's desire to lose weight. 😆

If I’m honest no I’m probably not attracted to really fat men. I don’t like myself much when I’m fat either though.

I do love personality and humour, but without physical attraction it means nothing. Same as good looks without personality means nothing.

And I'm attracted to the fitter guys, I want those v-lines! "

I was the same, ate for the dopamine, no willpower to stick at anything due to ADHD. Ended up having gastric sleeve surgery to stop myself overeating. That was a year ago and I've lost almost 8 stone, I've not looked back once. Best thing I ever did besides marrying my husband and having kids x

My advice is to join something with a community aspect to it. CrossFit is highly successful because it offers variety and the social side.

Working out on your own in a commercial gym is quite boring to be honest.

I'm totally with you on that. I comfort eat, to just feel something occasionally. 😂

Hoping with some new potentially fun things on the horizon, that I can at least break out a little from the routines I've gotten glued into. And before this cough got worse, I did actually start to think positively and walked 11 miles.

So I think it's there, but it's the keeping with it. Eventually it always stops, every time without fail. That's not negative thinking, it's just the truth lol.

Aw, well I'm glad that it worked out for you! That's amazing you've lost so much and it's improving your life. 😊

I need to lose about 4 stone, I think. But I'd also like a little muscle, not shirt off at every opportunity sort of muscle, but enough to regain the natural strength I have. I used to be extremely strong for my size and I kinda miss that.

That's actually not a bad idea at all. I do love socialising and maybe having others around could help keep up with the routine.

I've recently come out of a 3-month depression, so I do want to capitalise on feeling better. This cough hasn't helped either and started just as I began to get out again lol.

I'm trying to get back out with my mate and her dogs for walks, because I do love that. We go off-road a lot and it's a damn good workout, mostly uphill and getting caked in shit.

It's just getting better and then activating that part of my brain to get on with it. 😅

Larger men can succeed here, to a point.

There isn't however the same diversity of what constitutes attractive in men with respect to women. No woman is looking for a BBM, it's not a thing. There is pretty much an ISO standard and how far you deviate from it is going to substantially impact your options.

"Not at all. It's facial attraction, personality and skillset that's important. Loads of popular guys in the clubs have larger dads bods, the ladies love that they can make them orgasm, not whether he can do the truffle shuffle "

Agree with this entirely

Do I think it affects it? Maybe.

That said, I don’t personally mind a persons body type. Weight is only one aspect of presentation, and while I appreciate someone being well presented that can look like many different things.

I think there has to be an initial physical attraction - fat, thin or imbetween. But after that, personality and humour either makes that initial attraction enhanced or detracts from it.

Keto has been shown to be beneficial for dopamine levels and overall mood, might be worth you looking into,

It's a very easy way of eating that doesn't take much effort and improves your physical and mental well being, I wouldn't completely dismiss it if I were you.

I'm a bigger 'fat' bloke and honestly the only person I need to be comfortable with is myself.

Everyone has a so called type. It doesn't have to be looks, it can be based on humour.

I decided last year I needed to change for me, not anyone else, but me. So a year on I'm 10 and a half stone lighter.

Yes, I'm still a big bloke. I want to lose another 5 or 6 stone.

No, my body pictures on my profile are not updated yet.

Am I comfortable though??? Physically It's taking a while to discover the new me, I must say.

Do get attention on here? Yes maybe a little bit.

Will I go out and physically look for it, probably not, I'll let my personality do the talking.

Once your comfortable in yourself and with yourself, you portray confidence. No matternwho you are.

I’ve always been on the larger side. Would I like to be slimmer? Absolutely? Have I done anything about it? Yes.

I’m married to the woman of my dreams, and since we’ve been on here, I’ve met quite a few gorgeous women, so I can’t be that bad.

We’ve been naturists for about 20 years and swinging for two and a half. What both have taught me is attractive people come in all shapes and sizes. Personality and confidence goes an awfully long way.

I’m pretty body confident, and I enjoy getting naked in social or play situations. I might be self conscious in a room full of tall, six-pack wearing Adonises, but I think I stand up OK against most normal guys.

I'm as guilty as most but it seems that our own body hangups are rarely ones that hold us back...

Blokes worried about penis size or dad bods. Women obsessing about boob size, stretch marks or getting older...

We need a daily reminder to love ourselves as other love us. We often get in the way of our own happiness through fear of what others may think and don't find those that think we're awesome.

Oh, and just in case you have any self-doubt today... Yeah, you'd get it!

I've read more profiles stating that "gym fit" or "toned" being the preferred body type of choice than anything else.

Just my two pence...

I'm not their tribe...

I think there is a great peace to be found in learning to love yourself. And whether it's a universe thing or my reticular activator, since doing that I am finding more of what I want and that which seems to want what I bring to the table.
