"As soon as Christmas is over I start looking forward. Thinking of things to do in the garden etc. I don’t like New Years so I ignore that! " I'm already looking forward to early January when all the seasonal fuss is over. New Year Eve/day does nothing for me either.

"Me. I’m really struggling this time of the year." Struggling emotionally or financially?

"Me. I’m really struggling this time of the year. Struggling emotionally or financially?" Emotionally rather than financially I’d say. I’m not the kind of person to overspend on things because of Christmas. It’s the dark and cold I struggle with most.

"... December 22nd when the evenings start getting longer again. It always gives me hope of (eventually) the longer, warmer days of Spring/summer. I know we have the coldest time of year (January to March) to get through first but that'll soon pass." I particularly look forward to late March when the clocks go forward and it's suddenly light at 8pm. I think it starts to become noticeable around mid February when daylight edges back towards 6pm. Immediate post-Xmas (Jan/early Feb) can be bloody horrible.
