A voicenote that asks nothing about me, doesn't express any interest/discuss any thing I've spoken about before? Fuck, no.

I love hearing people talk, that stream of consciousness. The mini podcasts from my favourite squirrel. 🥰

I dislike them. With a written text you can scan it quickly. You can also refer back to anything easily. Voice notes are a pain to have to replay if you miss anything or want to hear a part of it again. I'd prefer people not to send them.

I have this friend on fab, I love her to bits, like as an actual real life friend not just a fab friend. Anyway, I send her voice notes and sometimes they’re 10 minutes long. And she listens to them. And sends me back 10 minute ones. If we weren’t already happily in love I think her and I would be so endgame.

Anyway yes I like sending them but replies are less instant. Depending on where I am.

Time and place, if there is a reason for it.

Otherwise no. Sometimes I am unable to listen to a voice note or at least reply, so the reply is delayed. A text can more often than not be easier to respond to.

I don't hate them though. Sometimes it's more convenient to voice note than type. It's very context base (shock!).

Right time, place and reason yes.

I’d rather a vn than a phone call sometimes as it gives me time to respond.

Also a vn rather than a text as things can loose context when in written form.

If you’ve had a bereavement and still have voice notes from the person thats also comforting.

I like a nice voice note from someone with a delightful voice, and sometimes it's easier to speak than type so I send them despite my tendency to ramble and not be sure how to end them I was once chatting with a lady who started sending 15 minute voice notes and by the time I had listened to them there was another 10 minute-r waiting! It got too much.

I love sending and receiving voice notes. One of my favourite things is hearing a person's voice, their laughter, the little things that come out when talking.

My best friend lives in Australia and the time difference is a lot so quite often we rely on sending and receiving voice notes to keep in touch!

I too enjoy a voice note, sending or receiving. I consider myself an old fart so not sure about the generational divide. I actually love the stream of consciousness that pervades and I can replay a voicenote if I forget what they've said when I need to respond. Have also been known to have a play to naughty ones sent to me.

My best mate and I leave each other voice notes alot, sometimes days or weeks apart and there's something very comforting in hearing the voice of someone you care about but don't see as often as you'd like. Them sharing verbally what they think and feel with no interuption. I have no qualms in public speaking (it's part of my job) and I like my voice so am comfortable sending them. Rejoice in the voice!

I think the idea is that you can listen to the voice audio at a time and place that's convenient and reply similarly when it's convenient. Phone calls have to happen at the same time for both parties and you can't choose if someone phones you at a given time.
