Not much different to having the rest of your body tattooed.

No one really pays much attention these days

I have noticed that tattoos on feet age better than those on hands. I see many people with hand or finger tattoos that start to look old and smudged in a relatively short amount of time. Whereas the tattoos on my own feet are still as good as the day I had them done (10 years).

I had both my feet tattooed 13 years ago. They still look great. I recently wanted one on my ring finger but my tattooist won't do hands as he says they fade too fast.
