Something in between.

I have some hearing loss and being really very short ordinary parties can be difficult. Quiet corners and sitting in order to hear.

The swinging parties are a bit easier as I don't have to do as much listening.

No I wouldn't describe myself as a party animal. Whilst I don't sit in a corner shy and retiring and only speak to whoever is next to me, I wouldn't dance on tables or shout to people across the pub or venue.

I tend to work the room I suppose, I'll chat to a few and then go off and chat to another group. I don't get up and do karaoke or pole dance if there's one in the club.

My party animal days are behind me as generally they were fuelled by a combination of youth and alcohol

I am not a drinker these days and can no longer get away with 'youthful' and as a result I much prefer the quiet life

As a rule, I actively avoid parties / get togethers because rooms full of pissed up / semi pissed people generally start to grate on me after about half an hour, especially when they get loud, leery or just talk shite.

I can be a bit of a party animal, especially if I'm playing in the band (I have a bit of an onstage persona).

If its an adult party though, I'm generally a little more reserved as I feel its a little more respectful to those around me...

I go to a lot have been over the years and some are so cl icky ... I hate it ... thay all go off into there rooms and groups to chat and if you get off with there friends end up slagging you off ... some parties been loads of fun ... its the people the mix . Some are just boring as hell .

I really don't get what point your making unless its a private dig at someone and if that's so its not that cleaver. Oh and fun is word that has a broad spectrum its just not for sex people can have fun and frivolity chatting at a party too.

well some of the parties thay don't dress up you feel right out of place if you do so I now take a change , lol some feel safe in there own group off friends its up to them .... I love a good party .. one where people all mix ...

No you missed the point. Dressing up or not dressing up doesn't make a party any better or worse and I was pointing that out to you as it came across as though you deemed it to make a difference. Its the people who are at the party who make it fun and the people who make an effort and often they avoid someone who is dour and flock to those who are smiling and happy.

That makes little sense! A party is often what you make of it and there are lots around or more I get invited to lots. Maybe people don't see you as a fun party type. its always good to loosen up not carry airs or graces and enjoy to the full then your a real party animal and you enjoy too. I go to a lot have been over the years and some are so cl icky ... I hate it ... thay all go off into there rooms and groups to chat and if you get off with there friends end up slagging you off ... some parties been loads of fun ... its the people the mix . Some are just boring as hell .

Have you ever though if you have been to lots of different parties and this happens its not the party but the common denominator going to all these parties? its the mix of people ... for some a party is just chatting ... not having fun .. and I go out dress up to party and meet and chat and mix. so the cl icky parties I will always hate.

That makes no sense at all to an adult. Why go to a party if its clicky, why would invite you if your a sourpuss at one, it doesn't matter what you wear as it has no relation to how much fun it its. I really don't get what point your making unless its a private dig at someone and if that's so its not that cleaver. Oh and fun is word that has a broad spectrum its just not for sex people can have fun and frivolity chatting at a party too.well some of the parties thay don't dress up you feel right out of place if you do so I now take a change , lol some feel safe in there own group off friends its up to them .... I love a good party .. one where people all mix ...

No you missed the point. Dressing up or not dressing up doesn't make a party any better or worse and I was pointing that out to you as it came across as though you deemed it to make a difference. when we say life and soul here its saying you like fun ... that's all it is mixing ... just some partys the mix .. is that some just like being with there own friends and not mixing .

From the way I was reading it I think you may be missing the point.

I think JO meant that it depends on the people at the party as to wether she would be a party animal or just go home...that some parties are clicky...and that some she feels overdressed/underdressed.

I don't think she was saying that she is a wallflower who waits for people to speak to her.

I am sure lots of parties vanilla and swinging can be described as what Jo is saying.

It depends if I know the people or not. If its people I don't really know then I can be quite quiet whilst I'm working the group dynamic out. However, if its my friends its a totally different story!
