Apologies in advance for a not-very-sexy-or-fun thread.

Fabbers that suffer from psoriasis, do you find that your condition puts others off meeting you? I suffer from it quite badly, especially on my back, thighs and buttocks and I feel it’s only right to mention it to prospective meets, but that usually spells curtains for any chat I’ve had going. Anyone have similar experience? Would it bother you?

I don't have psoriasis.

It wouldn't put me off, I know it's not contagious.

I have it quite extensively, and as you know, it fluctuates in severity. I've had it extensively on my back, although I've fought that down to one stubborn patch at the base of my spine, which I keep in check with ointment.

Currently my worst areas are my lower legs, which is why you'll never see me without stockings.

When it's bad, I won't meet. I've had a guy ask me to leave once, even though I'd been honest about having it before I met him. So now I don't meet if I'm having a flare-up.

When it's in check I don't mention it, as it's no worse than discoloration, and my stockings and lingerie mostly cover it.

It can be challenging, but if you're able to manage it, it needn't be too limiting.

Stay strong and keep going. ❤

I get flare ups on my face. We've not met anyone yet, it does make me anxious to.

You should try coconut oil, it's supposed to be quite good.

Hi OP. I suffer, at times, quite badly, but only small plaques over my body (apart from my elbows which can be really bad). Around my eyes and ears tend to suffer more in the cold weather. Im on biologics, supported with some lotions and potions. If there is potential of meeting someone, i will be quite regimented with the lotions and potions - more because i get super paranoid about it that it might be obvious and a cause for staring etc. It tends to get it to a place im not quite so paranoid about it. No one has complained nor rejected thus far. Like @_icecouple561 said, its not contagious … and id hope that the majority here would be OK with it or at a minimum discuss it with you if they were the slightest but concerned.

I have had a flare up for the first time in my life these last month, came out of nowhere. Not had any psoriasis before either. It's definitely on its way out now, but I had plaque psoriasis on my scalp and spreading onto my face but on my back it was a different type called gutatte psoriasis. It looks more like small rough patches that vary in size. It took a while to get it under control but it seems to be going now. Having the condition myself I wouldn't turn someone down if they had it but I can imagine others might be put off. I also had severe urticaria (hives) about 6 month's ago, that was bloody awful and took me out of the lifestyle for 6 weeks. I hope you meet someone understanding, maybe try a club if you haven't already. It's a better way to represent yourself and let people see your personality better. Don't beat yourself up too much about it, it can make your psoriasis worse I've learned!

I'd be happy if someone had a photo that included how it looks, so that someone didn't feel obligated to disclose anything. It's not a communicable disease and nobody has, nor can be expected to have, a perfect body.
