How many times have you had someone agree to meet and been messed about?

We have had 5/6 arranged meets where they haven't turned up and just not come back online or they blocked us.

I mean it's fine to change minds for any reason at all but guys let people know!

I think the majority of us have been in your position. Luckily we've never had anyone not turn up, but had people cancel an hour or so before suggested time. Some have even said they can't do the date, saying they had family issues, but like idiots posted a verification from another couple on the date we were supposed to meet !

I've had too many to count.

Unfortunately, it's a part of Fab life.

.

The best we can do is try to filter out the time wasters.

I've never had anyone just not turn up or cancel on the day.

I've had guys cancel with plenty of notice for varied reasons, most are rearranged.

I think how you meet has a larger chance of this happening, couples in general don't need the connection as such so perhaps don't chat that much, higher chances of people flaking out.

It’s happened a few times, from women, couples and guys.

I guess some are just too shy, scared, or embarrassed to say “sorry, changed my/our minds”.

No big drama for me, it’s part of fab life.

Years ago, when single I was stood up for a social meet.

He left the site shortly afterwards, when he rejoined months later, he cheekily messaged asking to meet. He was quite suprised when I said no 2nd chance & tried to claim he lost his nerve.

I did have people ask to meet then go offline around the time we'd potentially said we could meet..

I always put it down to those men not wanting a social, as some got other veries at the same time.

Thing is, that's fine, if they didn't want a social, they could have just said that & I'd know we weren't compatible.

I'm not meeting at the min, but I know it seems a common problem due to the many threads on it. People are flaky unfortunately.

I’m always quite forgiving as things do come up. I cancelled recently when I was feeling under the weather.

Thing as long as you’ve chatted with someone a good amount they usually always reschedule

I agree ops just be honest with others and it would make things so much easier.

You can always tell someone you've changed your mind and block afterwards if worried about any backlash.

3 from what I remember. One didn't message at all on the day, messaged a few days after like nothing happened. Another said sorry not feeling great asked to meet on a sunday, can't do sundays and got blocked. And the other was busy apparently

Zero that I can think of, but it's been a while. There have been two from memory that messed me out, one who wanted a bottle of wine, where 5 mins after sitting down an emergency happened so left her with it but it was obviously bs. The other a late night meet now, where she was still in a party so asked me to wait an hour or leave.

Yep too many. Get we're not for everyone but is a bit disheartening when you think you've found a couple too have fun with then they vanish. We've booked hotels about 5-6 times now for meets and ended up alone.

I travelled 30 miles with a FB for a meet, landed at the meeting point to be told the couple couldn't meet but they'll send a male friend instead, wouldn't have been to bad but it was 30 miles into rural Lincolnshire nowhere near a club.

Once and that was enough for me to bring in my no chances rule.

I've better things to be doing than be messed around by people

I got stood up once, he went UNLOS soon after, then rejoined about a year later, same username same pics and asked if I wanted to meet, the answer was no.

Zerø.

In four years - once. They gave me sufficient notice to cancel/change their mind. I don't consider that as being messed about though. It's a healthy trait to change your mind. 🩶

We've had 100+ say they're coming to meet us in a club but don't. We take such messages with a pinch of salt now as we're used to it.

None. We’ve had a few agree to agree to meet and then disappear or come up with excuses but I don’t think we’ve ever been let down once the meet has been fully arranged.

I've clearly been lucky as I've never been stood up - however there is always plenty of communication beforehand.

I have had people go UNLOS on me though when getting down to the nitty gritty of actually trying to arrange a meet and that has happened even when they have appeared eager to meet.

Very, very rarely.

But then I take an age to sort private meets out and usually it's with friends of friends or via 'networking' through club buddies or people I've known an age. I suspect if I was looking to meet random folk via messages, at shorter notice, then I'd have more problems.

I'm too lazy to rush in to anything these days. 🤷‍♂️
