Hate the smell - so artificial.

A good quality scented candle made with aromatherapy oils is ok.

It depends on what type and where they are. Them plug ins are great so long as I'm not in the same room as I always feel like I'm chewing on them

I agree, most of them are overpowering or smell like toilet cleaner!

I like the febreze ones, good for a quick fix although I much prefer scented candles, plug ins , oils

.

Yes, turnoff.

The air freshener would get up my nose, but also suggest there is another unsavoury smell to mask!

no matter

I do have one by the front door tho I cannot use candles or anything smelly throughout the house cos of the birds .. Highly dangerous..So if there is a smell then tough..

Air fresheners give me a sore throat and a headache so I don't really like them especially car ones. Much prefer the fresh smell of an open window or some nice aftershave and minty breath

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I have the windows open most of the year. When I had the cat I had to use air freshener sometimes and I still have to use some around the front door. The fox that sleeps on my front step is a bit stinky.

Fresh air.

Soap.

Hot Water.

Bottle of bleach.

And a good clean, wins every time for me.

That is kind of where I am comign from. I think I may be allergic to airfresheners, as they make me feel as if I cannot breathe properly.

I am ok with the yankee candles - they are a bit expensive but well worth it.

I have my windows open all the time and in my bedroom even over night and in the winter - I love the fresh cold air. Airfresheners tend to only mask but not eliminate unpleasant odours in my experience.

How do you avoid catching a cold or bronchitis?

Nice warm quilt helps - plus I dont feel the cold that much. I never need gloves in the winter as my hands are always warm.

I do like Japanese incense sticks sometimes - the slightly more upmarket ones are quite subtle.

London

I don't feel dressed without perfume, the house doesn't feel right without scent.

Sometimes the smells clash. My daughter buys candles from the Christmas shop in London Bridge, so downstairs will smell of cinnamon and vanilla and the upstairs of Japanese musk incense.

Ooo what a coincidence this thread, I mentioned air fresheners in a post a few hours ago. I love them, I have lots, one in every room and 2 in the kitchen to combat cooking smells.

No I've never been turned on by them or ever imagined I could be. I always have the fresh linen fragrance, i love my house being scented

"Fresh air.

So you think that air fresheners are only used to mask dirt and bacteria, how odd, that's like saying perfume is only used to mask unwashed bodies and I presume you wear perfume.

I actually open windows and clean and dust and polish and still use lots of air fresheners
