Hi there I found myself thinking that I would like a relationship with a lady that isn’t straight laced so to speak, I don’t need a relationship I would like one that I can make memories and have a laugh with,

So the question is do any of you have good experiences with websites that are a little bit more adventurous than the mundane

No I’ve not just split up with someone and I have my shit in order not looking too steal anybody’s wife

Whilst this site is called a swinging site there are many different people on here looking for different things.

From nothing to a relationship and everything in between.

That said if it’s a relationship you’re specifically after they, as you’ll know, take time to form, so just be honest with what you want and hope you connect in a way that it can happen

Ok so I guess I would like to become friends with someone and build a relationship with someone who is looking for similar things in the future I’m not fritzel or anything like that so it would be something of a work in progress where we both know what we are looking for

But if it’s a relationship you’re after then the proverbial ratio gets even smaller.

Read the profile. See if there’s a physical attraction and as importantly it may mention on their profile that they’re open to a relationship

Site rules don't allow recommending other swinging type sites, but I think that it's okay to mention more vanilla dating sites by name (though not actually linking to them) as they are not really competing with fab...

I've been trying out a number of the dating sites recently as I think that I'm now ready to search for something a bit more like a relationship than a fab meet. But still something that can exist in more of a poly or non-monogamous space.

So far "feeld" and "her" seem to be places where I might find the type of 'ship that I'm hoping for. Both of these allow accomodate more than just male & female genders, and more than straight & gay sexualities. They allow for saying more about what types of sex and kink you enjoy than places like "ok cupid".

I haven't found anywhere that includes forum facilities as wide ranging as those of fab, this is still the place where it seems easiest to engage in char with a diverse bunch of folks.

All the sites I've tried have major restrictions on how much use you can get from them without giving them money, with considerably higher fees than fabs site-supporter. Most of the sites do not allow any messaging until you have "liked" somebody, and they have independently "liked" you. Mostly the sites will tell you that you've received a like from Josephine (for example) but will then not let you see Josephine's profile until you give them money. And mostly you only get one chance to look at any single profile unless you give them money, so if you remember that you did see Josephine's profile yesterday but swiped left (reject) then you don't have any way to go back to take another look. Conversely if you haven't seen Josephine's profile yet, then you maybe won't at all as your age/distance/other filters might be excluding her, and even if your filters will let her through, her profile might not come up until you've been through 500 others first...

TLDR - "feeld" and "her" seem best to me, but it's a real lottery unless you pay memberships. Best of the bunch for hoping to get non-vanilla meetings, in terms of bang for the buck, is still to pay a fab site supporter and to spend a lot of time making contacts through the forums and/or chat rooms here.

I've always found if you're not proactively looking for a relationship you're more likely to find one.

Let things happen naturally. You have to get to know someone first rather than going in to any contact with an agenda.

No worries.

I only ow people who put 'open to a relationship' on their profiles. It gives other an indication.

I suspect it actually may work better for men than women, as often some guys will say whatever a woman wants to hear to get a meet, whereas (in my brief 17 years on here at least) that tends to happen less the other way round.

But it's something that can't be forced and much like vanilla dating you still need to get to know someone before making decisions. The more open you are to socials, date style meets and slow paced conversations not revolving around sex, the better your chances in my mind.

For some unknown reason, it seems a lot of people here have delusions of grandeur, more so outside of the forums.

It’s probably the weirdest site I’ve been on to actually meet anybody.

I’ve met more people on the generic dating sites than I have here, I use this for the forums and to have a laugh with people now, whenever I feel like meeting or looking to arrange a meet, this is not the first site that I think of, if at all.

I've not been on a dating website for years. However I found OK cupid good for this. It matches people based on multiple choice questionnaires. Included was questions about sexual attitudes, kinks and veiws on monogamy. For example it would ask questions about if you'd consider a 3some with your partner? What would you say to being spanked? Would you dress up? Would open the relationship up? What would you say to an invite to an orgy? That sort of thing. It doesn't reveal what people have answered to the questions just simply as a percentage who they've match to you in each category. And of course it would ask questions in other categories as well regarding dating/relationship requirements. I found the site was better for dating when looking for a relationship that is not necessarily vanilla or necessarily monogamous. The down side being its not got the numbers on there as some of the better known sites.

I think is handy that it trys to match people sexually too. Because it's always a chicken and egg thing. Because you don't want to bring up sex too early or come across as someone only after one thing. However you don't want to invest in dating and getting in too deep to find out down the line you want different things regarding sex and/or monogamy. However when you both know you're matched regarding sexual appetites it's a freedom in the early stages. It mean you can forget about sex and concentrate on getting to know each other and growing a raport. Because you both know that when the time is right to talk about sex chances are you'll be open to the same things.

That's always been my frustration on dating apps. Guy ticks looking for a "long term relationship" ... when actually they are emotionally avoidant commitment phobes who just want a shag. At least on fab you know they primarily want a shag first and foremost.

However if you then find a genuinely single man like I did with my OH then things can develop if you are both on same page and open to a relationship, it just takes a little time to uncover that.

Yeh there’s still a stigma attached to woman looking for casual isn’t there so a lot of them won’t advertise it.

What I’ve found seems to be the common theme in the dating world (online or apps) is that a lot of people will go a bit extra if they feel like you are a catch for them.

So to use numbers as an easily understandable descriptor (not because I subscribe to the league shit)

If somebody saw themselves as a “5” and they are looking for a relationship, but they get a conversation going with an “8” for example, that “looking for a relationship” has a lot more play in it. They work harder for conversation, make more effort and are open to casual.

Whereas if approached by another “5”….. “looking for a relationship” is stuck to a lot more rigidly.

A lot of people seem a lot more malleable with people they see as “out of their league” or a catch.

Personal opinion, nobody shoot me.
