I'm on a weight loss drive somewhat , at least until my love handles stop laughing at me in the mirror

I'm never gonna be a 6 pack type and that's fine as I'm more strongman build and I like shifting weights in the gym

How does everyone in here take care of themselves body wise ?

I recently started training at the gym (started in August) and, according to my PT I’m making decent progress.

I’m already down 6kg (12lbs) and losing the stomach. Would I say I’m fit? Not 100% but I’m certainly in a better place than I was this time last year.

Waist size.

I don’t weigh myself but down from 40 to 38, the 38’s are loose and I’ll have to try 36 soon (assuming I don’t go too mad at Xmas)

Maybe once a month...I try to eat as clean as possible "

on all fairness I've been mindless snacking lately but I have quit smoking . I need to start looking at it as a treat again and not a coping mechanism

I've gone the other way lately and put it on but I'm hoping to at least have lost the extra by the end of the year

Thing is with weight loss is consistency. Once you get into a routine with food, knowing what to eat etc, it makes weight loss a lot easier. Pair it with exercise and it’ll come off.

And cheat days do work, usually limit myself to something on a Saturday and thats about it.

Lift weights 3 times a week with occasional cardio on a day off. I have a job where I'm quite active too. I try to eat as well as I can but I love chocolate so I have a little bit each day.

Walk wherever I can. Progressive overload down the gym. Cut back on alcohol and eat what I prepare from fresh rather than crap from a packet or takeaway.

Since about 45 I’ve focussed on keeping my body and mind strong, fit and healthy so that I can enjoy life into old age rather than aesthetics. So it’s a mix of weights , cardio and stuff I enjoy - boxing, swimming, hiking. I stopped owning cars a couple of years ago that’s really helped. I train around 5 times a week & do a lot of photo walks some days 25K steps

I got some bag gloves yesterday . Funnily enough I bumped into an ex pro boxer I trained with today and he put me through a mini circuit after I'd done the weights

I don't do much for my health.

I'm trying to eat more meat and veg as my folates and iron are low again.

If you can walk, then do it often.

It's good for your mind as well as your circulatory and lymphatic system. Buy good walking footwear though.

I find the happier I am the more likely I am to eat better and walk more.

I used to do swaps, but now I can't eat a lot of the healthier snack stuff I just limit my chocolate intake.

I still eat it but nowhere near what I used to eat.

Limit your alcohol and wheat products.

Keep thinking positively

I jog. Play rugby and cycle. I also do some mat work most nights. I’ve changed my diet recently and cut out snacks and some processed food. I’ve toned up over the last six months.

I'm not so active anymore however once upon a time I was!

I was more than military fit even when I was 35.. ran circles around the 20 year old lads at the physical for the fire service.

Caught covid and now feel a decade older than I am!

So I watch what I eat!
