I think the men on fab are bad and still not the worst of us. So definitely just how they are.

Happy International Mens Day!

Most men are good role models, though some are better than others. Although it is interesting we see so much talk of male role models and what makes a good one etc etc yet never see the same for women.

We really need to stop putting men down,

Insulting them and labelling them sexist or toxic. Most men are wonderful, kind, good, helpful and caring people.

Calling most men toxic, is entirely wrong though and has a dreadful negative effect on society. Calling most men good is positive and closer to the truth. Feminists need to stop claiming masculinity it toxic or wrong. We need to stop hating men, and instead offer kindness and respect for all the good we do. This is especially true for the one day a year that is meant to be about us. Yet the UN, and feminists refuse to acknowledge it.

Covent Garden

Regrettably not.

Fab is unsurpassed for being a suitable place for a man to be lambasted, ridiculed, put down and shamed in every manifestation. And that's just by his fellow man on here. The less said about the other sexes the better...

The camaraderie is minimal, the malevolence is maximal and the male solidarity is near non-existent.

If one is looking for role models on here then it's best advised to look elsewhere. If you need a kindly ear for some lighthearted support then this place is most agreeable; but don't expect too much.

A few good men will back a few indifferent men and no one will remember. The indifferent men will chastise the bad men and no one will forget.

We really need to up our game and follow the examples set by women who will always support each other. Their approach is always (mostly) natural and instinctive, for it is instilled in their DNA. For the men it's mostly lip service and contrived.

Sometimes it's futile being an indealist.

To quote a man wiser than I.

"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women"

There can be some quite touching moments of support towards men here. I think it happens more often through DMs than on the public forum. I'd like to see that more, be the change one wants to see and all that.

I think that's more an effective philosophy than role-models. To draw upon Nero's reference to feminine wisdom. I will quote a woman wiser than I too.

"The true focus of revolutionary change is never merely the oppressive situations that we seek to escape, but that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us.”

I think the internet just brings out the worst in some people and let's them behave badly by allowing them anonymity behind a screen.

Having seens some of messages female friends receive, I do often wonder if it's some unspoken competition between certain idiots who can send the stupidest most annoying messages.

Either that or too many blokes break the rule of never drinking and Fabbing

Nietzsche wrote to be careful when fighting monsters, because if you stare too long into the abyss, the abyss states back into you.

He meant people become what they first fight against.

I suspect many well intentioned, decent people joined here, tried to stand out from the toxicity, only to find themselves at some point relenting and adopting behaviours they intended not to.

I think, if we genuinely care about men like all claim to, it has to be beyond the feminist hating shit that it always ends up as.

Black men are more likely than any other to get prostate cancer. More likely to have their first encounters with mental health services through police. Less likely to access services for mental health. Less likely to have positive health outcomes. More likely to be stopped and searched. Overrepresented in prisons. More likely to be excluded from school. More likely to live in poverty. Suffer high rates of unemployment. All of these things. Gay and bi boys and men are more likely to have tried to end their life. They experience violence and discrimination that most of us can’t imagine. And these are things I care about and passionately want to improve in my friendship groups and in the causes I support and in my work.

I don’t complain because women see men as a threat. Men are a threat to women. We’re a threat to ourselves. The work has to start within. And people get on the internet and blame everyone else for the problems facing men and say nobody cares about us but actually the biggest supporters of the issues I’ve faced have never been other men. It’s other men that so many men worry about telling their issues to out of fear of ridicule. It’s masculinity standards that men and boys struggle to live up to that are so harmful. These are the things worth unpacking. When women talk about being scared of men, stand in solidarity that they don’t know which man is good and which man isn’t. Don’t make it about you. A society that has better attitudes towards gender and sex is better for us all. Too many people pretend to care about men’s issues but they don’t mean ALL men. They just mean themselves. They just mean the ones that look like them.

A man worth aspiring to be like, for me, is a man that is good. And believes in good. And making the world better. Not one that doesn’t acknowledge his own role in harm to himself and others.

And that’s as serious as I’ll get on this topic.

All of the men who dont recognise the traits of the worst of men might want to take a look at some of the wank chat/wife chat threads to acquaint themselves with the way some men act in their hour of most need

https://that-guy.co.uk/

We can all say I dont do that

But we can still recognise that when women are a victim of a crime its almost always committed by a man

Look at all the men you raise an eyebrow at when you see him embroiled in some grubby scandal

It's as good a place as any. There's plenty of men on here who are worthy of role model status. As for mental health, there's plenty of supportive people on here too.

I just guess it depends whether you're the sort of person who focuses on the negatives, rather than the positives.

If you want to start a thread you should. There's a lot to celebrate about men, for all the bad that also exists.

I've seen men support other men. Lift each other up. Offer help during times of low mental health, uncertainty etc. It's a bit sad that we can't recognise/appreciate the good without the bad becoming the main topic of conversation.

Some excellent and thoughtful posts here. I think its so important to focus on the good in any sector as what is newsworthy tends to be the awful. I am the daughter of a wonderful man, ex wife to a decent man and mother of a progressive and thoughtful son. My experiences on fab with men has been 90% positive and I have made some wonderful male friends here.

That's interesting Miss Doll,

My general thoughts indicate a strong 'no'. Do guys walk around the streets showing women their dyxx? Acting weird as fuck, getting abusive if a woman ignored them, etc. No. Absolutely not.

That being said, I think guys are tortured sexually, and this site gives them a safe environment in which they can blow out. Lol.

Although I highly recommend that they play the game if they want foo foo, because being a creepy guys gets you nowhere.

Given it’s often stated how this site (and perhaps others too) negatively impact the mental health of aforementioned sexually tortured guys, is it really a ‘safe’ place to blow out?

I don't think it is a safe place for them to blow out, no. This site can destroy men, or so it seems.

I've seen some on here, and the mass rejection seems to send them into what appears to be a very dark place. I think they assume that a "sex" site must surely facilitate them getting their sexual needs met. When they see that it's not as amazing as they initially thought, it seems to fuck them up more.

Then again, for others, I suppose it's not a big deal. I don't like rejection either, but it doesn't harm me. I'm aware of the numbers, I know it's nothing personal (as they say). That being said, I don't get rejected as much, and that's because I actually use my head when I deal with women rather than just blowing out with whatever frustrated sexual thoughts are in my head at the time.

"Babe, I've got a massive dick, piss down throat babe"... Obviously, that's not going to facilitate anything..
