Always on the move

I've gone EV. As a self confessed petrol head, I was dreading the change (company car). But now that I have it...I actually love it. It's smooth, quiet, comfortable, easy to drive, and surprisingly spritely!

I drive an Audi Q5 55 TFSI e quattro S line Competition, in white with black quilted pattern seats (I love the interior). I have had this car for almost 2.5 years.

I always had old cars and my last car was a clio which I had for 10 years until she went to car heaven.

I wanted an SUV style car because I had been driving my father's BMQ X1 for a few months when he was poorly, and it got me enjoying the SUV driving position.

My car is also great for taking our dog out, and the car has enough space for all of our camping stuff.

We recently bought a Nissan Navara truck as hubby's work van was wrecked outside our house. This now means that our next car could be slightly downsized if we wanted.

Aston Martin Volante- Love - the colour and the noise it makes.

Hate- the general infotainment controls- too much is screen based and i’d like more buttons

VW amarok-Love- Does most things an Aston Martin cant and is actuallu pretty comfy and quiet for what it is.

Hate- parking the sodding thing. It doesnt fit in a standard space.

Hubby’s Cayman GT4 occasionally

Love- Handles really well

Hate- optional seats it has- bum numbing after an hour

recently switched to EV, got BMW IX xDrive40, initially I didn’t like it as I moved driving from 520d sedan, which is still one of the best ones made by BM..but now I love my IX, smooth, and with B/W speakers, sound is amazing..I don’t feel bored going on long drives too…but it’s only doing 2.4/KW/hr with battery size 76.6 KW, not sure if this standard with EVs so have to plan my journey carefully..

Peugeot diesel.

Very good mileage, decently comfortable and reliable. Other people use it.

I don't really care if it gets dings and scratches. Nobody is going to rob it and leave me having to deal with insurance crap.

I used to like nice cars but traffic, cameras etc. Driving is just a chore now a car won't change that.

I appreciate you are probably talking about the new puma , but hubby gets very wistful about an old racing puma he had, constantly searching the usual sites for an"just the same" replacement.

As she said, my main drive is the Nissan

Love that it's really comfortable and the high driving position.

Love the 360 camera.

I quite like the agricultural sound of the big twin turbo diesel engine.

Impressed with the economy. I do make a conscious effort not to hammer it most of the time and the result is I'm averaging over 40mpg from a big heavy truck.

Hate? The trail gate isn't on the central locking - a relatively cheap fix. Also want to get a hard cover to increase load space in the rear.

Other hate? Bloody Adblue.

Volvo XC60... I was going for a Land Rover Disco Sport until I got the insurance quote so opted for this.

It's okay. Lots of power, drives like a car, super comfortable on long rides, almost all the toys you could want (missing heated steering while and speed limiter), but it's happiest on the motorway and I just don't do those miles anymore.

I'll be changing in the New Year but not sure what to. Ford Edge maybe...

Vw tiguan rline. Love the smoothness of it, comfort and relatively cheap to run. Hate it's an over sensitive bitch, driving down a steep & narrow road when suddenly the collision warning lights come on, the seat belts tighten around us and pull us into the seats so I basically can't bloody move my arms to drive & the breaks get slammed on. There wasn't even anything coming towards me, it was just the steep banking of the side of the road that set it off. Plus approaching sharp corners sets it off too .

Mitsubishi l200 comfortable, like driving a couch. Hate the fact it's mud tyres & they cost a bomb to replace. Also its too wide & long to fit in a standard parking space

Hate- the general infotainment controls- too much is screen based and i’d like more buttons

Which Aston is it ??

DB 12 Volante in Buckinghamshire green"

I drive the one I have because there’s no other options when paying less than 1K for it.

It’s a banger, but it’s a banger that keeps starting every day.

Hyundai Tucson Hybrid. Never thought I'd switch to an SUV as I like driving too much!

BUT... it's efficient, comfortable on long journeys and the torque from the electric motor makes it shift way more than I expected. Just wish it had a more tuneful exhaust

I drive a clio alpine hybrid 1.6 and I hate it apart from the mpg.

Its dull, boring, doesn't handle, it's slow... soulless.

I miss my alfa and my proper cars x

I treated myself to 2 cars last year.

I've got an UP GTi. Relatively cheap and its great fun. It's a genuine small hot hatch. Love it.

The other one is a CLK55AMG. Bags of power and has a cracking 5.4 V8. Roadtax and fuel is a killer though

23 Reg BMW 1 series 118i manual. It's nice but occasionally accidentally put it into reverse gear when I actually want 1st gear as they are next to each other, has anyone else done this ? On my previous VW you used to have to push down on the gear stick to select reverse.

I’ll run that thing into the ground and probably be quite sad when it goes.

Jaguar XF Portfolio estate. Or ‘sporting brake’ as Jag call it. 🙄

It has every toy going and a great sound system.

Only problem is it’s a little smaller than I need so I’m probably going back to a posh van like a Viano or Transporter.

Miss my Porsches, but not the tax..

1993 Toyota Hilux Surf

Love - it's reliable, it can carry a lot, it's comfortable, it's not worth anything so I don't worry about it, it's pretty capable off road, it's an hilarious daily,no unnecessary tech, it's retro, it has all the funky JDM options iykyk

Hate - 18mpg, turning circle and length make multi story car parks impossible

I drive a Subaru Outback.

I love the reversing camera, that it handles the rough terrain by the lake and has plenty of room for me to put my bike in the back (with rear seats down)

What I don't like is that the stereo comes on automatically when I start the engine, it doesn't like connecting to my android phone and it's an automatic (though most cars in NZ are)

Merc - Love it as it's 400bhp, yet has 4 doors and acts as a family car

Hate it as it gets uncomfy after 2 hours driving 911 - Love it as it's

911 - Love it as it's old enough to be interesting, yet modern enough to be reliable

Hate it as it's expensive to run, and every part has "Porsche tax"

I'm a petrol head through and through. Get cars aren't for everyone... But as I say... They're still cheaper than drugs and alcohol!!

He told me that the Pajero wasn’t called that in Spanish speaking countries, because pajero is Spanish for wanker

I love the styling, interior, driving position, handling and performance. It's not full of computerised crap and has surprisingly good fuel economy and a decent boot.

Only thing I hate is that it's a 20 year old car and parts become harder to come by.

I have the 140hp version and don't find it underpowered. It handles brilliantly. I greatly miss driving it on Welsh and Scottish country roads. The 190 T-sport is good, but the engine is fragile.

Tesla Model 3: very cheap to run, does the office run very well, it’s quick - instant torque, I can warm it up in the morning using my phone! Not such a fan of how it looks (someone said it looks like a fisher price car and I can’t disagree). Which is why I have…

We have a Ford Ranger which we bought brand new. Mechanically it's been great, works hard, lot of towing and heavy carrying work, but as for the electricals and the paintwork, it's been the biggest pile of shite and cost us quite a bit of money. We'll never buy another.

Would like to go back to the Isuzu pick up as much better quality.

I love it because it's got, reverse camera, heated seats and steering wheel. It's been reliable, it's comfy and is economical.

It was a sensible car which I very much needed.

It's not great in the snow sadly and I do miss the style of my old beetle. It's very much a mum car but that's ok.
