"Tis the season to be... Debating whether Die Hard is a Cristmas film. Over the years I'd say no but I've come to believe there are 3 classifications of Christmas film: A) Films where Christmas is a central theme and without it, the story doesn't work - Santa Claus The movie, Elf, Polar Express B) The film is set at Christmas and has become associated with Chrustmas but the story could work at another time if year - Die Hard, Home Alone, Trading Places C) The film has nothing to do with Christmas other than it's traditionally shown on Christmas Day - James Bond, Indiana Jones, Star Wars. Just a thought... Merry Christmas you filthy animals..." Based on your criteria above, which think makes a lot of sense, where would you put 'It's a Wonderful Life' | |||

The party at the Nakatomi building could jyst as easily be to celebrate a merger, retirement, Holly's promotion, etc... Christmas is purely coincidental as it is in Home Alone or Rocky IV. | |||
