75% of women have a reserved man.

From the land of haribos.

I dont know how true it is, but I saw a thing about it and it said that the reason they have one in reserve is because just in case their current relationship fails, they could fall back to that one.

What is your view about it, do you think so many have one in reserve, does it mean the other 25% have more than one? Would you have one extra, if so, what would be the reason?

I dont think it is a good start to a relationship if one already have secret one waiting for them

I’ve never had a guy in “reserve” haha one relationship at a time is more than enough.

It doesn’t sit right for me, how can I give my current man 100% if I’ve got some other guy in the sidelines?. Definitely not.

There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

87% of statistics are made up on the spot...

Now, that notwithstanding, I do think a lot of women have a "friend" that, whilst not being on standby, would be a potential mate if they were called up.

Some men are worth reserving, like the finest of cheeses, cave-aged (neanderthal style) or like a sub-standard bottle of barrel-aged Port. 🍷

Both JåmieHånts and Mèlí procure their 'men' from either caves or barrels (or both).🩶

What do you mean by reserved?

As in they're sitting around single and waiting to dive straight in, or they're doing the same thing to their own partner?

Or just that 75% of women know that if they were suddenly single they'd have people who would jump at the chance to take them out?

If 75% of women have a reserve, and the population split is roughly equal, that would mean 150% of the male population were claimed as either primary or reserve, meaning that many would not actually be available. Surely?

A sore point in my relationship right now... My partner has banned me from talking to a male friend after accusing me of keeping him as my backup. Completely untrue, I have been friends with the dude for 16 years... Partner claimed a couple of days later that they actually said the dude is keeping ME as his backup... And then banned me from talking to him entirely a couple of days later. I miss my friend.

Hmmm….you’re assuming that there’s no overlap amongst the men. Also populations in this context would be an absolute figure and so can’t exceed 100%.

That's the point. 75% of women cannot have a reliable reserve as well as a primary, assuming standard monogamous structures.

If I tried banning my wife from talking to someone else she would laugh like it was a bad joke, and then once she realised I were serious she would laugh even harder.

My submissive even has it as a red line ("no banning/limiting contact with friends and family"), one I respect because it's a red line - but also, I would never want to do that anyway. Her having a support network is incredibly important.

I think acquiescing to such a demand would be quite dangerous, regardless of the value of the friend.

Like many things on fab we have to take opinions of people and interpret it for what it is, for example I think I'm a decent guy and in reality I know I am but proving it on here is practically impossible. Yes, your ex might of been a decent guy but that's your opinion because you got to know him as a person, I'm betting there are 100's on here who wouldn't

I met my current partner on fab .... generally I would agree it's not the place to find a partner because most men and women on here are either swinging with an existing partner, cheating on their partners or single and just wanting a nsa shag.

My standards are in respect to the behaviour of a man not what they look like..... because some of the "beautiful" men can be absolute d*cks.

I definitely don't have a reserve man .... finding one decent one has been hard enough ... I will be happy on my own if it doesn't work out.

I doubt that the 'reserve man' is something that's been formally agreed on. There could be men who she is friends with but not romantically involved or men who have shown interest in her but she has not reciprocated.

So in the future if she is single they would simply be connections she had that can be rekindled if she so choses.

I can imagine if I was highly attractive in the dating market, it would make sense to initially pursue a relationship with the most compatible person. But finding that person can take time. In that time surely many other suitors can approach me, and I might seriously like some of them but bide my time in wait of someone that ticks more boxes.

So then lets say I find such a person and we enter a relationship but for whatever reason it doesn't work out.

I might then think about, x, y, z person who I met in the past who I really liked but earlier did not pursue a serious relationship with.

If they are still single and still interested It would be reasonable to pursue a romantic relationship.

I think most people want to pursue their ideal, but would be open to starting a relationship with someone who ticks fewer boxes if they are a genuinely great 'candidate'.

All of the above is just conjecture on my part. But that's likely how I would operate were I approached by lots of people looking to start a romantic relationship.

I don't think it's relationship based but many insecure women have a back up roster that is purely there to shower them with the attention they crave. It's not just men who treat women like an option, it goes both ways they are just more quiet about it.

"What do you mean by reserved?

As in they're sitting around single and waiting to dive straight in, or they're doing the same thing to their own partner?

Or just that 75% of women know that if they were suddenly single they'd have people who would jump at the chance to take them out?

If 75% of women have a reserve, and the population split is roughly equal, that would mean 150% of the male population were claimed as either primary or reserve, meaning that many would not actually be available. Surely?"

Hi _reytothefairies, it means that they have one ready just in case the relationship doesnt work, yes, few would be reserved, not everyone

But if the same one is reserved by several people then they're not actually reserved.

If the point is that most women do have orbiters who hang around pretending to be friends only to make a move the moment the woman becomes 'available' I would agree that probably 75% (if not more) of women in relationships have at least one of those. But that doesn't mean they're interested, have any actual relationship potential, or that the woman is actively 'reserving' those people.

I am aware of several people who would like to have sex with me that I choose not to for whatever reason. Those people are not 'reserved' and I'm long past the teenage days of getting out of a relationship and going for the most convenient available sex to cheer myself up regardless of actual desire 💜

I don't think it's a premeditated decision by the woman, but my opinion on it would probley subconsciously maybe. But more so to the point. There will always be a man there to play knight in shineing armour and virtue signal and provide a shoulder to cry on, with possible alternate motives if you decide to not treat your woman right, or she gets board of you.

Define reserve... If by definition it means a guy you can dick dial. Id say every man in a woman's phone book that she's had sex with is then technically a reserve.

I'd be thinking that's a load of BS OP. Let's face it ,if a relationship fails a woman just needs to click her fingers and one of us dirty dogs are around sniffing,

They know this ,

We know this

So why would they need a back up??

I think a lot of relationships end when one of the people find someone else they would rather be with. I think it would be a mix across the sexes though.

The reserve thing would come into play if you have someone that you like but would never cheat on your current partner. The relationship ends, that other person is no longer off bounds. Again not specific to either gender.

"A sore point in my relationship right now...

"

Brunette has many male mates that would jump at a chance with her, to me it's no problem because I trust her. As much as a do not like (putting it politely) a few of them it isn't for me to to tell her what to do anyway. Hey yeah of course I will let her know how it makes me feel but it is up to her and I will respect that.

Find that trust issue and talk it through.

Jay

Personally, I'm sick of the wife having a few guys ties up to a pole in the cellar for a few days, just incase I don't bleach the handles and switches in the house as a backup.

Seriously though, that's a whole load of nonsense. 75%? Maybe 10, at a push. I can't imagine the women on here, especially in relationships having a backup. Why would they, they're in a relationship already with someone who is adventurous.

😳

I was on holiday with a female friend a couple months ago, we shared a bed. We walked around naked, at point she was pissed & playing her tits asking me if they look good.

Who in their right might would spoil that kind of friendship with sex ?

Is this not the whole ‘if we’re both still single at 40 then we’ll get together’ scenario, that you invariably make in your twenties, not having long been dumped and feeling like you’ll be alone forever and that that’s the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to you?!

A reserve man? Does he live in the boot like a spare tyre?

Or is it more a "in case of failed orgasm, break glass" type deal?
