What's everyone doing over the festive season. Who's going away, who's got family staying over, whos going winter wonderland?Anyone paying a visit to their local swinging establishment for some seasonal shenanigans. Is it a mad one or a chill one this year. Will your advent calendar turn into a event calendar with all the parties, pantos and picklesmas picnics you are participating in?

Tell us your plans x

The Continental

Times are a bit too tight here at The Continental, so we’ll be bunkering in for a couple of days. Spending time doing silly stuff and watching Wallace and Grommit on the telly box, instead of spending cash we don’t have.

Sadly not, they’ve been swallowed up by the mundane of MOT, Car insurance, repairing storm damage.

I’m off work for the best part of 2 weeks this year. Usually spend a few days away with family, but not this year. Was thinking of going away for a bit of sun; but can’t justify the cost.

A quiet one alone, for the big day - which doesn’t bother me at all - open to offers of fun the other days, lol! Loads to do around the house, but nothing that can’t be postponed! 🤣

Okay, i liked the most recent dark one with erm whatshisname. Guy pearce in the miniseries 2019.

I liked the one with patrick stewart.

So some family time, some chill time then back to the grind stone. Will you watch Christmas films on Netflix or random stuff - probably by then the tyson/Paul fight would have stopped buffering

Working Christmas morning. Enjoy doing that; there's a rare community spirit, and it's no hardship when you know you're leaving early afternoon and spending the rest of the day celebrating the birth of Our Lord (= drinking too much wine and eating too much turkey).

Lots of exciting things on the lead up to Christmas

The actual day itself will be partly spent at work and the home to all my boys and my dog. Party food, Xmas films and tasty treats. Hibernate until it's time to go back to work in January

I find christmas a bit of a challenge.

It builds up with everyone rushing around, then it peaks with bad quality sausage meat stuffing, those awful quality sausages, slightly burned turkey and then boom its gone and im left with post christmas syndrome. grrrrr

Last year I was very warm and merry and back in bed by 1pm. Dinner and washing up done too. It was the best. I used to have "guilt" that my family Christmas didn't have all the production value of others as it was just me and my daughter. Now we just eat drink, make merry and enjoy a chilled one.

I plan on cooking Christmas dinner, opening the presents for my dogs (friends and family will already have theirs).

I've told family I'm not up to a big Christmas get together so I'll stay at home.

I'll watch Christmas films and Christmas telly with my dogs (my border collie literally watches the telly). I'll go walks with my dogs and just have a quiet and lovely Christmas day.

Indeed, decent size chicken. Veg prepped and in foil trays. Loads on mince pies on stand by and Baileys for breakfast.

Hey Cinnamon! I love Christmas almost as much as Halloween. Almost.

December is going to be quite a busy month for me, festive city break with the boyfriend, wreath making, family and friends visit, charity presents drop off, a Christmas edition of a farmer's market, a lot of baking, carol service, games night.... you get the idea.

Christmas Day I'm hosting for the inlaws. His parents only eat veg that's mashable by fork, one brother is vegetarian (still waiting on his boyfriend's dietary requirements)... so I'm going to be up at 5am with a Bailey's mocha and cooking several meals. It's going to be a hoot...

I land from Dubai on Christmas morning.

I’d be hoping for a lovely Christmas lunch when I arrive but that happens in my wildest fantasies only 😂😂😂 so I will probably have to cook if myself if I want it. Or we may move Christmas dinner to Boxing Day like a couple of years ago.

My kids are all teenagers/young adults now, so Christmas isn’t such a big thing anymore which suits me fine. I hate all the build up and stresses of the season.

Dumb question Alert - is christmas celebrated in Dubai or is it verboten?

I agree all the build up is a pain in the posterior. Nice to chill when it's all over though.

Blimey _eli! You certainly have a lot on your plate (mashed or otherwise) enjoy the build up and make that Baileys mocha an extra large one as you boil the life out if that veg 🌟

Off work for the full 2 weeks, out Christmas eve and boxing day at family get-togethers.

Christmas day it's just me and my mum going for dinner at a nice pub, then settle in front of the telly with a glass of something nice and a tub of chocs. And maybe some cheese.

"Off work for the full 2 weeks, out Christmas eve and boxing day at family get-togethers.

Christmas day it's just me and my mum going for dinner at a nice pub, then settle in front of the telly with a glass of something nice and a tub of chocs. And maybe some cheese.

Bliss, it just can't come quick enough!"

Sounds perfect! Do you usually do Christmas dinner at the pub?

Lamb is delicious. If I could cook I'd do lamb. Christmas is the one day a year I cook so it's a seasoned in a bag chicken for me and my kid.

My gran taught me to cook and a roast dinner is one of the first thing I learnt it's all about timing really

I'm sure I'll find a different kind of entertainment. Or just go away for the holidays
