Start with a Terry's Chocolate Orange. Firstly, you don't want gift giving to peak too early. Secondly, it's more even Christmassy than a roast turkey or the birth of the Messiah.

Nothing

It’s a new partner, don’t start wasting your hard earned until you know they’re a keeper.

You're going to have to give us a few clues.

Gender, tastes etc.

Red lacey lingerie. Women go mad for it. More so if its made from synthetic fibers. If it don't make sparks fly than it ain't making sparks fly - if you know what I mean.

Scalextric.

Never met anyone who wasn't delighted to receive an unexpected scalextric.

If it’s a new partner and s/he wants more than your time, walk away.

What does she like?

What are her hobbies?

The usual undies if you know her size of you don't stay clear.

Socks in a box?

A personalised vag rag for after the sex?

Weekend/night away somewhere nice for the both of you. I think experiences are worth more than gifts. Especially if it’s the start of a relationship where you’re still finding out about each other

.

How long have you been seeing them? How old are they? Is there anywhere you've spoken about visiting together?

I think a city break could be a lovely idea. It's time together. A restaurant with their favourite cuisine, a romantic cocktail bar. Mooching around some shops or getting lost in each other in the bedroom.

Things are... well lovely and all but time, making that effort to spend it with someone is truly one of the nicest gifts you can give another.

Depending how ‘new’ the relationship is, think carefully before spending a fortune, but a few ideas if you’re feeling generous:

Lingerie (I would suggest black with a hint of lace)

Spa day/weekend voucher

Perfume (find out what perfume she already wears and then go to a department store to ask for similar scents)

ESPA or Elemis products are lovely and they have nice sets at Christmas time

Silk or satin dressing gown robe

If you want more of a homemade DIY style gift, a hamper might be nice filled with some of her favourite things: chocolate, wine, bubble bath, scented candle etc

Buy her shoes, put the gift receipt in and let her pick her own, if she want to spend more than £20 she can.

How about not buying them a gift.

This is not me being mean, my husband and I have never bought each other Christmas gifts. Instead we give each other little treats throughout the year.
