Passing things on...

I had a conversation with my kids a few days ago and they came up with a few views and values on how life is and how people should behave. They mentioned values I adhere to myself but I do not recollect ever having discussed those with them.

What ideas, views, values may you have passed on to other people including your children and grandchildren without realising you were doing so?

Hull

I don't have children of my own but I have certainly been passed my mother's insistence on spelling and grammar yet I have no recollection of ever being told how important it is.

I have always corrected mine on spelling etc, too. It is one way of learning your mother tongue correctly, isnt it?

Mine came up with values such as standing up for the underdog, fighting bullies - I do not remember ever discussing this with them in so many words and yet they feel they "picked the value up" from home.

They will have watched you, overheard conversation so have learned by example.

I think a pat on the back is well deserved...x

I don't have children either but value everything my mom did to me and use it everyday.

Treat others how you want to be treated

Always say please and thank you

Sit up straight and stop slouching

Stop pulling faces or you'll stick like that

And most importantly, dreams can come true

You don't know just how much that featured in what my kids said about having felt supported - they , too believe that dreams can come true if you work on them.
