Manners cost nothing...

Has anyone else fallen foul of couples being rude in totally the wrong sense of the word. We've been chatting to a couple on WhatsApp and telegram as well as here, sharing photos, voice notes and cheeky banter for ages, talking about sorting dates for a meet..... Then within 2 minutes we've been kicked out of groups and blocked on everything without a single word. No explanation, nothing. I get that we can't all be everyone's cup of tea... But they've seen more than enough photos of us over the weeks to have made their minds up and it takes 2 seconds to say 'sorry, maybe you're not for us after all'. Is it just me or am I expecting too much for manners not come into it on Fab?

It was the suddenness that got me! We'd been chatting away happily then Wham, gone and blocked mid conversation. Maybe you're right about dodging that bullet!

This happens to single men a lot and they are usually told that they should either accept it as being part and parcel of internet communication or that they will have said or done something to provoke such actions.

Often it's that people don't know how or don't like to turn someone down once they've been chatting for a while.

That's the weird thing though... It wasn't getting awkward, the conversation was flowing freely from both sides. I think you're right about people forgetting they're talking to real humans- Which is strange when you think about the fact we're all here specifically TO connect with others ultimately

Perhaps you said something that didn't sit well with them? I'll admit to doing that on occasion when something pops up in the conversation that makes me immediately withdraw.

Perhaps one half of the couple didn't like or agree with how the conversation was going.

You'll never know so don't even give it headspace

From your point of view it was going well. Maybe it wasn't from theirs? Maybe one of them got jealous or didn't like how the conversation was going? Maybe they had stuff going on in their lives.

People generally have a reason for blocking, though sometimes they are just dicks.

I was told once you can’t decide or judge for others in regards to their standards or actions. Those are personal to them as yours are for you.

The problem with messaging is that it’s hard to read a tone. Instead of asking what someone means it’s easier to block or ghost

You say OP that you have been chatting for ages on fab,what's app and telegram . That in itself is part of the problem .One can say to much or say to little or just say the wrong thing with all this "banter" when you have not actually met or had a social meet up. People have busy lives but if singles and couples can't even meet for a social fairly quickly then playtimes are just never going to happen.

I gave up "chatting" many years ago for this reason - I just don't have the time/energy to spend weeks or months sexting and texting to then either be ghosted or to turn up for a drink and find there's no chemistry. If a single person or a couple can't meet for a drink swiftly or find me at a club, it's just not gonna happen.

I also don't share pics and videos for the same reason - 99% of the time it's just people wanking wankbank material and you never know where any picture you send is going to end up....

What is the connection to being kicked out of groups?

Were there others involved in these conversations? Others who may have influenced them or formed different opinions?

It does happen. I think as mentioned previously for single men probably you didn’t make the final cut of the several they were chatting to so instead of being polite and saying “decided not for me” or similar they just bail.

Seems to me that you were more invested in them than they were in you.

Maybe a great tragedy befell them.

Drop your ego a bit and the frustration will ease.

What you perceive as bad manners may not be the same for them.
