For HDD OS windows 10/11 only, I believe.

Okay, this is probably quite a rare issue to be fair, so I expect maybe 0.0001% of people might have a [decommisioned/might be handy one day] pc that does the following...

1) Doesn't do a thing, fast (multitude of not responding).

2) Any background updates of windows update will start to kill the hard drive response time, leading to impatience and wanting to fist things quite furiously.

3) Throwing it back in to the cupboard for another time.

This is simply because modern windows 10/11 untweaked versions have so many background processes compared to the old days (probably 3-4 years ago)

Solution is simple and there are multitudes of "guides" online.

If it's a non-laptop you can fix this easily with a friends help (offer them lots of tea and cake etc) by buying a reasonable ssd (now thats the hardest bit, given the multiple issues samsung, western digital et al and many others have caused at various times. Ive fixed my 2 home pc's , my work pc and 2 peoples 8 year old laptops. Yes, all old stuff.

Anyway, the solution is there for the 0.000000001%

Yes, there are probably a few things I forgot to mention, but i'm pretty sure there are lots of real tech people on here who may comment

i can name better than using windows 10/11

swap to another system

downgrade back to there original operating system

as goes for windows 11 thats a forced to buy a brand new system that can run windows 11

if you want to reduce the junk you need to know more info or get something that does it all for you.

but note everytime they upgrade your system you will have to redo all of it again.
