Hi all,

As we are going into the dark months with this never-ending clag, let's have a mental health check-in. Personally I'm not in a good way at the moment so let's all be there for one another

Is this because of the approaching anniversary of your bereavement last year ?

Partly, yes. Trying not to think too much about it, obviously. But I have always struggled when the weather is dull and cold. Thankfully I have quite a bit of work on which helps a bit

Haha - but at least the people up north are a bit warmer and more friendly!

I don't know enough people down your sunny end of the country to confirm levels of friendliness

lots of things coming to a head just now and am at he bottom of the barrel as far as my own physical and mental resources go, but am holding my head high and, despite the dark clouds of doom gathering, I know that this, like everything else, will pass and I will come through it better and stronger (but not like the Bionic Man).

Big love to everyone out there, and Big Hugs to those of you that need them just now xx

Trying a couple of courses to understand my mh a bit better but often just makes it worse as I can't understand my position compared to others on the course. I know shouldn't compare but hard not to.

I don't think I've ever posted to this or related threads, but today I feel I need to. I'm not in a good way today, feeling very much like "what's the point in fighting the good fight?" and wondering "what humanity has come to". With what's going on in the world out there I'm spiralling down into despair. It started yesterday morning with a panicky feeling, and wanting to just burrow myself into my duvet and not come out, but that's not an option.

I know I can't control the world, I know I can only control.myself and my own thoughts, but even that is pretty hard atm. I've tried pepping myself up with positivity today, but I just don't have the energy. I'm just counting the hours until the day is over and I can get into bed and ignore the world.

I know where you are coming from - things are pretty dire in the world at the moment. I think sometimes you just have to get to the end of the day and hope things look better tomorrow.

Do you have anyone close you can talk to about the way you feel?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It is a double edged sword to open up here, but I'm feeling better to have spoken up. I've been a depression patient for years and have been through various cycles...COVID added anxiety into the mix and I'm still getting used to that part. I'm in medication but I can't really tell these days whether it makes a difference...

I suppose in part it is the weather, the time of year, along with a few other factors.

Thanks for the support. Hopefully I'll have myself a nice meet on Friday which will help raise my endorphin levels and perk me up no doubt

I'm on a huge dip right now. The two key reasons being lonliness which has lead me to drinking every night.

Been better, OP, but I'm sure that this too shall pass. Well, hopefully

It's definitely good to talk though, and anyone going through shit ATM - you're not alone, find someone to vent to. It's not weak to talk, quite the opposite.
