Why so serious?

couple, us we him her.

To quote the Joker.

But today everyone seems so bloody serious,I just don't mean on here but in general everywhere you go.

It's like the nation has has it's sense of humour surgically removed.

What happened to being able to take the piss, sarcasm, jokes that people laugh at rather than hide from being amused incase someone say's they are blah blah.

Just laughing at anything really, people seem to be always looking for something to get offended by.

And before people start I don't mean bringing back racist jokes, homophobic jokes and so on.

I just mean jokes, having a laugh.

I don't have to be offended by something to not find it funny.

Senses of humour are wildly varied. Maybe save your best ones for the people you know share that humour with you.

There are plenty of things I'll say to my close friends to make them laugh that I wouldn't dream of saying to a stranger 💜

They've always been like that. It boils down to a lack of love.

Because these days no matter how inoffensive the joke is...someone will be offended!

Yep, what the wise one said. Humour is such a subjective thing... maybe someone doesn't find a joke funny. I had an attempted one made at me recently and it was more dickish than funny. From someone I have a close friendship with I'd have found it amusing.

Humour still exists, it's just not always compatible between people.

Definitely this. It’s not worth it, especially on social media.

We aren't serious unless the situation requires us to be.

I'm from Essex, the banter is in my blood.

Sense of humour does still exist. It's just that people who aren't funny make this complaint to explain why people don't laugh at their jokes.

I'm still that person, and if people don't like me, they can kiss my arse!

Old school all the way here!

I find people that don't have any decent humour in them are usually the bullies on here as threads usually show they spend their lives back tracking all the time to be popular! 🤣🤣

I dunno. I find this time of year to bring folks down, the pressures of Christmas and impending winter can make folks a bit less jovial.

I’ve not necessarily noticed anything out of the ordinary though, I’m still fucking hilarious and a charming ball of sunshine

Ahh, I know what you mean. I just crack on regardless to be honest. I'm surprised I have any friends. I guess they are just offend-proof.

Whatever you say, someone will end up crying. Especially women! Bah! It was a joke! Calm down, calm down!

Since the politically correct angle has come in.

I say the absolutely most viciously transphobic things to my trans partner. Because he gets me. He knows it's coming from a place of humour and love. I would never say those things to a stranger, who may take it as further perpetuation of the actual antitrans rhetoric.

I tend to think of people who do wing those kind of jokes out at complete strangers as pretty irresponsible people.

But, they can be fucking hilarious in the correct context.

Loving having a laugh aslong as it's not at someone elses expense.

Dark humour awsome but there's a time and a place.

Do they? Can't say I've noticed, my mates have me in fits of laughter on a regular basis. But I guess it depends on finding your kind of people.

I work with a guy who has the most dark and awful sense of humour, I find him hilarious. Mainly because he’s a kind and gentle guy that has a huge heart. It’s all about audience
