I watched this morning, and there was a blind, epileptic woman who's dog was trained to ddetect when she would have a seizure. Amazing

I tuned in to see a cat walking down a fridge get a standing ovation, I thought I might be having some sort of weird nightmare!

"I tuned in to see a cat walking down a fridge get a standing ovation, I thought I might be having some sort of weird nightmare!"

Step away from ITV and switch on QT - a whole different sort of animal programme.

Question Time, of course! Amanda Platell, Caroline Flint and Sarah Tether all looking like they need to get some sleep and tell the make-up person to stop when applying the foundation.

The RSPCA was set up about 40 years before the NSPCC.

Lol - I need to get some sleep, missed that completely. Was too bisy watching Jonathan Ross calling the dick from Made in Chelsea a dick time and time again, rather amusing!

I've met him, several times. He used to get on the same bus I took to work.

Ms Platell looks a bit like a spitting image puppet..

and Sarah Tether has gone all anti tory, anyone might think there were local elections on the horizon..

It's the start of the separation before the divorce that has to be completed by April 2015. At least we don't have any elections in London until next year.

Sadly, yes. I wish they wouldn't talk over each other and get all shrieky.

Has ITV always catered for the lowest common denominator, or am I just noticing it now that I'm getting older, or is it a new thing? Coz anytime I watch anything on that channel I swear I can feel my brain rotting after 5 minutes

Lot of weird cat and dog people out there to watch it and plenty of dog and cat food to sell during the adverts.

Why not? There are many award ceremonies that are much more tedious. I would rather see an award show for animals who've made a difference to someone quality of life than awarding some plastic orange faced celeb for churning out some pointless mind numbing film.

The book made me cry, I don't normally entertain programmes like that but was ironing and waited to see Bob.

Why do people think its sad to of watched the awards for animals tonight? Im certainly not weird and i watched it. It was really interesting to see how animals helped and improve the lives of many different people. Was particularly moved about the little boy who had a severe disability and he had a special friendship with a horse then when he died his ashes were scattered in the horses field so they could still be near to each other.

Yes we love our pets and yes some animals are amazing and expertly trained and save lives.

But an awards ceremony......

It's just an assumption but I don't think the animals are bothered about a stage appearance and a statuette. I'd be interested to see cats, dogs and horses walking down the red carpet in designer dresses but the programme didn't offer that ......, poor in my opinion
