What are your favourite quack treatments? Snake oil treatments, in other words.

Snake oil linement used to be sold, to 'heal' an enormous range of ills (it never contained anything derived from snakes).

A Kansas 'Doctor' grafted goat testicles onto those of men, after one of his contacts noted they were horny and had energy, unlike himself

. The treatment was suggested for more than impotence, before he was stopped from practicing. 14,000 men had had grafts

In fairness until the sugar tax it was made by one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world alongside cancer treatments, cervical cancer vaccines and aquafresh toothpaste with the stripes
