It's about 12 months overdue.

Possibly one of the worst coaches I've ever seen in the Premier League.

Unfortunately this means we have to start taking Man Utd seriously again

I think it did yes, they shouldn't have extended his contract in the summer but there's big questions about how some of the players just didn't perform..

There'll be a bounce back now and they'll look a different team..

Yeah, I think it's this. His tactics have raised some questions but when we've played well, the team weren't finishing their chances such as at West Ham yesterday and Palace earlier this season. I think despite the two cups, 8th and now 14th isn't a great return and I don't think the injuries can be blamed this year.

I can't see any manager being successfuk there. Ratcliffe has too much control over the manager and finances for someone to walk in amd make changes. Other than the pay off when you are sacked (which I bet will now go), why would you go to United.

I think I'm very disappointed by the whole thing. Ten Hag did so well with Ajax that when he was hired, I thought we were getting an elite manager in his prime and had such high hopes that by the end, it was almost a sunk cost fallacy to keep backing him. I genuinely don't know where they go from here or even who they can hire to begin to turn it around 😕

As we are both Utd fans and they should sack the Glazers as a joke club at the mo and huge debts plus the ground is falling apart and years behind the so called other big 6 ( all with big debts but that's another story/tax fiddle) and as for Rattcliffe wanting the uk tax payer to foot some of the bill for building a new ground ? but they spent silly money and are paying silly wages for underperforming players ? and so a sorry old mess really and a total 100% rebuilding job ! from the top down not the bottom up ? xx

Its a tricky one. 21st currently in the PL and no wins in Europe this season. That, for a (so called) "elite" club is P45 territory.

But 2 trophies in 2 years??? Many clubs and fans would sell their left kidney for that level of success. Some certain clubs would be renaming their shiny new stadium after him, let alone a stand.

The issue as I think everyone knows isn't just ETH but a host of things not quite right with Man Utd. But 21st gets you the sack. End of.

As a Man Utd fan I feel Erik ten Hag should have been judged at the end of the season not in October.2 cups in two seasons are the positives.£600million spent on players and the performances on the pitch are disappointing these are the negatives.

It's not just that he spent 600m on players, it's that the players he bought didn't seem to match the profile of the "possession based" style he allegedly wanted to play (and never did, btw)

Mis-profiling your own signings is the height of coaching incompetence.

It’s been a car crash from the start.

He’s been allowed to buy his Ajax players at extortionate prices.

He’s not improved any players since he’s been at the club.

Then the new management trying to find a better manager, all played out in front of everyone and then back tracking and giving him an extra year.

Plus the way they are handling getting rid of Fergie.

It all smacks of a club from top to bottom not having a clue.

If Utd think sacking ETH is the answer to all their problems then they are in for a shock.

Whoever comes in will just have the same effect unless they shake the club from the foundations up.

K

As a Liverpool fan, I rather enjoyed Ten Hag's tenure

From this point on, I think Utd need to commit to a serious rebuilding job focused on incremental improvement rather than constantly overpaying at the top end of the market in the hope that the next overpriced signing will be the one that makes them contenders again. I doubt the Utd hierarchy has the patience for that approach though.

Yet another PL club plays musical managers and expects a different outcome.

Prima donna poorly performing players have no incentive to improve when they know it is the manager who will carry the can.

Fergie was a great manager because the players knew the club valued him more than them.
