Right - the menfolk often get a hard time on this site, often with good reason (#notallmen). However, there ARE some absolute immense chaps on here, and although I'm not going to name the names, #TheyKnowWhoTheyAre

Yesterday, my getting in and out of a social venue AND in/out of the loo and my car, relied entirely on a group of fabulous Fab men. I was manhandled on/off stairlifts, my leg held out of the way, tenderly(ish) hoiked up/down crazy ramps, the toilet door opened/closed for me, I was protected from insane taxi drivers who wanted to run me over, I had assistance in/out of the car, they learned how to attach my e-scooter thingy, they brought me drinks and crisps and so much more.

It was the first time I went out anywhere other than work or the supermarket, and the first time properly on my own, since the surgery to my hand. Mr KC was worried about me because of my current lack of independence, but there was no need to worry.

I hate being reliant on other people and I felt like a complete pain in the arse for needing so much support, but the kindness and willingness and thoughtfulness of my assistance team was just

I love all of you. Even the knobbish ones

I had a great time, definitely. I'd not have even made it out of the car without help though, so I'm very grateful for the assistance squad

What a wholesome lovely post, though I wasn't one of them thank you on behalf of all fab men for the recognition we're not ALL knobs!

Would I be ruining it if I said we're always happy to help someone with great tits...yep...ok glad I didn't go down that route!

Needing support does not make you a pain in the arse.

There's some good eggs out there, glad you had a great day.

In all seriousness, it was really painful. I had to be shoved up a ramp that was far too steep and that was far too close to the edge of a kerb to make it possible to start from a flat place. I then had to transfer onto a Stannah stairlift from my wheelchair, but in a very small space and unable to place the wheelchair in the best position for safe transfer. Also the footrest for the stairlift didn't seem to work, hence my leg being tenderly lifted.

Basically, although I definitely am not averse to being manhandled (especially not by the principle "handler" ), it hurt like feck.

And I was worried I'd hurt someone because I'm not exactly petite
