"Probably the brains inability to switch off so to speak. At any one Time I'm thinking about 100 thing's unable to relax causing anxiousness and stress and so it goes on. Sleep should be a way to relax but takes ages to get to sleep only for a fleeting moment and awake again , brain at 100 mph... " So from what you describe is that ADHD or Anxiety playing it's part? Is this the M or F posting? Do you take medication for this?

"Yes as above My ADHD has been diagnosed recently but know I was different my whole life Yes anxiety there and I didn't know what it was Panic attacks Even been told I might be boarder line autistic due to some of my traits Yes the flipping out is an issue but I learnt to deal with it due to effect it had on my family " Thankyou for sharing this. It kinda answers a good few of my questions about a girlfriend I was seeing. However she never did tell me her problems. How did you learn to deal with your problem?

"ADHD and Anxiety Adhd never had this shit when I was young. To much shit these days. Just my point of view don't like it don't post it " It was around when you were young it just wasn’t recognised. The ignorance here is sad. Depression and anxiety I would agree perhaps gets played a lot. Some if it is just life. The things I have to deal with in my every day life is unbelievable and I often think I can’t cope with this anymore and have mini breakdowns. That’s not a mental health issue that’s life and the cards I’ve been dealt! So whilst I agree that things are too often put down to “mental health issues” I can’t agree that actual diagnosed mental health illnesses aren’t real.

"And also anxiety from PTSD, I used to have panic attacks, which I didn’t know at first, I thought I had issues with my heart. Now I take meds as and when I need, I don’t take them daily. There’s also breathing exercises you can do for anxiety, as well as seating and laying positions for circulatory posture to slow your heart rate. " I feel your pain there x

"Does anyone have autism and what can you tell me about that?" It’s broadly similar, a life time of not fitting in and being shamed plus struggles with emotional regulation

"Personally i think we all tick the box’s in some way. I think certainly do and the more I read and learn about ADHD Autism and anxiety im convinced it fit all. Its only in the last 18th months my anxiety has stated to show its hand and have an effect. Autism fits Always shy away’ struggle to fit in’ always looking for confirmation etc etc ADHD everything has be right’ i need to plan or know the plan or it just messes with my head. I get to work 30 mins before start time and if i get delayed on way to work my day if buggered. " So for example if you plan something yourself and someone tries to improve and help you out with travel plans. Would this mess up your head and your day and days ahead will be stressful?? Plus you would fall out with the person whose trying to help you

"Im an advocate for ADHD and very very educated about it and anxiety links and more importantly just living life day to day with it,and being a father with ADHA my inbox IS OPEN TO ANYONE " That’s such a lovely offer. I’m the same also, I have ADHD and professionally specialise in supporting girls/ women whose presentation can be really different. My inbox is also open It’s a shame when I see people querying the legitimacy of ADHD diagnosis, as I’ve seen personally on so many occasions how affirming diagnosis can be for people. Quite often people are diagnosed with anxiety and depression for years before looking into alternative conditions.

It's so very validating to get an ND diagnosis, although I'm autistic rather than ADHD. I was misdiagnosed with borderline/EUPD as a teenager, and I know about 5 women who experienced the same. The damage done from years of being told that with therapy you can "get better" takes a long time to recover from.

The sheer amount of people who have been literally been tortured with CBT/ other therapies which are incompatible with ND conditions because of misdiagnosis is insane. Even more bizarre that NDA young people are being pushed towards it because services are so stretched and don’t have appropriate interventions at their disposal.

One million percent this It's so frustrating for young people to be told there's services there but then to be refused because services are stretched so much and then going on massive waiting lists. The whole system is a mess really. More needs to be done.

"I’m really interested in exploring ADHD and a strong desire for NSA hook ups. I’ve pretty much desired this for myself for most of my years. Has anyone else with ADHD felt like this???" I think there’s definite links between neuro divergence and “alternative” sexual lifestyles and preferences. Whether that be NSA, poly, swinging, kink etc.

"Hello fabbers, I have a question about how ADHD and Anxiety are linked. So,has anyone any experiences they would like to share with us? How has one or the other or both affected your life? " Was diagnosed a year ago with ADHD after knowing my whole life I was different. Been taking antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds for years however after starting ADHD meds since May and upping my dose I’m finally starting to see the difference and no longer mask who I am. RSD - Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria is something that I struggle from massively which also causes anxiety and is strongly linked to ND. Happy to chat to anyone who would like some support or just a listening ear.

I’ve just never been able to kick the fab habit and the excitement it gives me. I’ve been in and off the NSA world since 2007, even now in a stable relationship I’m still drawn back into my desire for finding fab friends. It’s been such a realisation that I’m now finding myself and others who are just like me

There’s nothing like the feeling of connecting with someone new, finding out their desires and exploring them together. I’m pretty similar lol.
