I like the Lancashire countryside, very good walking territory if you're into that kinda thing. Open moorland. Desolate but peaceful.

The town centres are run down though. Their best days were decades ago. ( I think retail in general has shifted to newer retail parks. & online shopping).

vera playa, Almeria

We live in a Spanish village,

good things: well the weather, cost of living, naturist beach a short drive away, lots of visiting swingers nearby, very cheap alcohol, very little crime.

Bad things: sometimes it's hard to understand the neighbours.

Best is- Santa pod & watching all the different kinda cars drive through the village

Worst is- the social housing estate they built on the field & the amount of antisocial behaviour there is from it

Ryde

Pro: Being on an island and away from the hectic madness of the mainland.

Cons: The rising crime-rate, coupled with the "no blood spilled, it's an insurance matter" attitude of the local police.

The Solent is, pound-per-mile, the most expensive stretch of water in the world, and puts guests off of making the trip for some fun.

Best - can walk a few minutes from the house and be in miles of farmland/countryside

Worst - once thriving front street is like a ghost town

The sea and the sea.

It gives and takes away. Part of life's eternal ballet.

Or something.
