I should have said, I don’t get mistaken for anyone famous. It’s usually their “mate” who looks like me apparently

Once, in a bar, I was mistaken by a group for someone that the group had a severe grievance against. It took a lot of convincing that I wasn't that person. It didn't help matters that my first name was the same. Apart from that one time, no.

I used to get mistaken for my sister very frequently, despite the fact I had brown hair and hers was nearly blonde ..

Tonypandy.

Yes, I often get mistaken for people called Babe, Hun or Gorgeous. Guess they must be triplets if people keep mistaking me for all of them.

I do frequently get mistaken for someone who gives a fuck too. Common error, as I was that person a long time ago.

Many years ago, Damon Hill, racing driver used to look like me.

I was helping a friend with his race car in the Castle Combe racetrack pits and a couple mistook me for Damon and asked for an autograph, which I happily gave, only for a mob to form around me requesting the same. I must have done 20 autographs that afternoon.

Back in the 80s I was walking through the kitchen of an hotel I was supplying equipment to.

A member of staff dropped a tray of cutlery in the floor and screamed "omg it's Rick Astley!"

All the time. I have a doppelganger walking around Leicester. Knowing my deceased dad's track record I'd not be surprised if it was a long lost brother.

I was recently mistaken for “Foxy” off the survival tv show (I’ve never seen it).

I don’t see the resemblance myself as I’m bald 😂 although I did have a cap on.

Only for someone's Mistress (I wasn't on Fab at the time and was a shy 25 year old).

A Woman and a group of her friends came to my work and initially were just standing there watching me as I worked, but I could overhear them saying "I'm sure that's her. I bet she's scared now! She won't know what's hit her", ect.

I carried on with what I was doing and they approached me asking if I knew who she was and did I hope it was worth it.

They said they knew who I was but were calling me by a different name.

I said I think they had me confused with someone else and they were having none of it. That was a fun conversation with management and security but she eventually admitted it wasn't me who she was looking for and sent a written apology.

Sometimes people seem to think they've met me before, or say I look familiar.

20 years ago the people I worked with reckoned I looked like Charlotte Church, but I have no idea how they thought that!

I got mobbed by a group of d*unken men in a bar who thought (and were adamant!) I was Miranda Hart. I was on a work night out at the time, was a bit awkward. Would have preferred it if they’d mistaken me for Cindy Crawford.

"I seem to get it at least once a month. Anyone else get mistaken for someone else?"

When I was about 18, I had a late night/early morning session at my girlfriend's house while her mum was on nightshift. It was getting close to her mum's home time so I phoned a taxi to pick me up at the lane behind her house, just in case she got home early, at least I'd be hidden. I'm standing at the bit of wastegeound next to it and a wee red Punto toots it's horn and the driver waves. I assume I know them and wave back. They stop and shout "want a lift?" and I shout "aye, cheers". I jump in, clip my belt on, and look up to see a complete stranger looking at me. He obviously thought he knew me then realised his error, but neither of us said anything and he asked where I wanted dropped off so I picked a street near my house just to be on the safe side. We made awkward small talk the whole way and then I got out and thanked him.

I've no idea who he was or who he thought I was 😂
