watching 24 hours in A&E and just wondered.....should hospitals put murals on their ceilings to give the patients something to look at??

My hospital has televisions in the waiting rooms - they are always showing rubbish daytime type programmes.

The art is on the walls but something interesting on the ceiling could help, especially when on a ward and trying to get to sleep.

I work in put patients dept in a small clinical room with cream walls.... Not evryone likes what I have to do to them . And I keep asking for pictures to put on wall to take patients minds off what I'm going to do. But it's cross infection risk!!!!!! Wtf???

I think when you really poorly you dont care to be honest would be difficult to clean. Childrens wards are more colourful.

if it was painted on the ceiling how would it be more difficult to clean than a normal one

LOL patterned ceilings would be more difficult to see stains than plain ones. I agree they are not that clean these days.

A moving random swirl of colours....like a screen savour....or moving clouds across a blue sunlit sky.

No doubt very soothing. ...unless your delerious or tripping. ..or have a migraine.
