FabSwingers.com forum: Has your FAB usage changed over time?

So when I first joined I was fairly active on the forums. Posting frequently, starting threads and keeping abreast of most activity.

Fast forward 3 months and I find myself hardly using them at all. I pop in occasionally now but the interest for me has somewhat evaporated for various reasons.

Have your experiences, and or usage, altered over time?

I found I was coming on here and procrastinating on the forums far too much. I really enjoy the back and forth but I’m also here for a specific reason and I was constantly dithering.

I stopped posting as much and got the ball rolling on actually participating in this lifestyle. A few club nights and some private meets. I’m pleased I did.

The forums are always secondary to the main site for me. I will drop in if I am at a loose end but meeting is why I am here and I think that has stayed pretty constant over the years.

2016 - 2020 never on Forum, only used FAB for socials, meets, and clubs.

I shag in a different way now, so FAB's primary use is having fun jumping from thread to thread, with very occasional sexual interest in people from the main site/posting on Lounge.

Both approaches have done what I wanted them to do.

Definitely changed after time. The forums become too repetitive with the same posters/topics which in turn, turn a thread into a conversation between said people.

It's nice to see new faces but they don't last long as there is a feeling of being exxluded

I'm a bit cyclical. I spend a bit of time in the forums and not bother with the main site, then I'll ignore the forums and focus on the other side, and sometimes I'll disappear completely for a while.

I tend to wander away from the forums when they become a bit 'samey'.

Yes, we use fab loosely now. Sometimes have months away from it.

Years ago we used it to make connections. Announced every club visit, swinging holiday etc..

Now we mostly prefer to just rock up and see who we meet at the time.

Keeping in touch with friends we’ve made and the forum now and again is all we seem use it for.

I started to find it was a lot of regurgitation of the same old threads and also a lot of, what I would call, nonsense threads.

I like the forums, they’re probably my favourite part of Fab. Most of the people I’ve met have been through the forums (or at socials I’ve found through the forums). Even women who’ve messaged me out of the blue have done so saying they don’t post on the forums but they’ve seen me there and wanted to chat.

So yeah, I like the forums.

But I’m not using them as much any more, after having my trust broken a bit. People sharing personal stuff in forum Telegram groups left a bad taste in my mouth.

The forums and online chat is what I use fab for these days. Had no many issues with ghosting, time wasters and liars that I really can't be bothered to meet any more. Guess that's what comes of trying to be nice online.

I reach out to someone now and again now but as I'm past 50, most of the time fuck all happens. So I mostly disengage and just pop in for the silliness of the forums now and again. It's a much more chilled way and less effort attitude unless effort is returned.

Am very ,very yo yo tbh ,l certainly respect everyone here , they're here for their own reasons but myself sometimes l just join , partake, meet people,bored, leave,rejoin, repeat ,l suppose life take it's course & l don't find myself here as much as l was at the start , I suppose twas new at the start & it's not new now , the forums can be good but sometimes its the same thing only worded differently or by a different person hence you could find yourself giving your tuppence worth on the same subject you did 3 months ago but that said it's a very interesting joint in lots of ways.

Agree in some part. Some people have a knack in twisting forum threads into their own agenda and what started out in life as a genuine question turns into accusations of mysogyny, misandry, racism, homophobia etc. It will never change. It's repetitive. It's the same fuckers that do it and I just try not to get sucked into that abyss now. That's my main difference.

New guys come on and don't know the previous topics, so will repeat previous ones "why can't I get a meet?" These become tiresome every other day and will attract some sarcasm (I'm not innocent) then perhaps the offended brigade step in and it all whips up chaos.

It's still good. There are obviously splinter groups on What's App etc to discuss people and that's their murky business tondo so. But as a whole, I enjoy it enough to come back and participate in topics usually light-hearted about saying something about the poster above and oofts etc. I try to avoid the serious stuff.

There are some quality men and women on here that I would love a coffee or beer with, probably not 'sexytime' but there are some people that don't fire my rockets at all and some that have thankfully left.

It's cyclical and people who have been on here a lot longer than me will know that.

This for me. I normally comment and just expect it to get lost in the either. Thankfully the Irish forum moves much slower and comments are replied to more frequently

I used the forums a fair bit when I first joined but they got too repetitive and predictable, you'd know who was going to reply to posts and pretty much exactly what they'd say. Stopped using them altogether for a while, just dipping back into them again now, but probably won't be too long before I get that groundhog day feeling again.

no ive always used fab the same way i am now at the same time several other sites are opened too as fab is the best but never keep all your eggs in one basket..

as for the forum ive alway used them but most of the post today are wank fodder tribute/ porn like / content makers / very little now is swinging based or indeed post by swingers ... but then to be fair the forums are so small 1%to2% of the site use it so its no biggie as most want nothing to do with it ...

us couples and women who have been on this scene for a fair chunk of time will naturally meet from fab less n less as our pools of friends grow bigger and bigger .. i could meet every knight for a year with how many i know so fab for me is yeah i still look for guys but it really dont matter as i dont really need to but i guess i like new guys every now and then...

as for guys the site will just get more difficult as more n more men poor in daily so more moaning ..

Has fluctuated. I joined when fab was as new, recommended from someone on another site. But mostly chatted to folk. Then I went through spells on and off of meeting people. Now I’m just back to chatting and using the forums. Probably looking in the forum much more now than I ever have done before.

When I first joined fab I had no idea the forums existed, so I just sent out my little messages asking lady people if I could sniff their minges.

Some friends of mine recommended checking out this community of weirdos and perverts and I’ve been here ever since (save for two little breaks).

I now find myself mainly talking nonsense here when I should be popping my winkie into totties, but it’s good fun. I have a better relationship with the forums these days - I can easily leave it for a day or two, especially if I’m busy - whereas I used to feel the fomo.

As a result of being on the forums I’ve discovered socials and have met some really good people. That’s been a nice and unexpected dimension to this life. Just need a regular rogering from a foxy stoat to cap it all off.
