Hi all, I'm training for a charity cage fight again and just wanted to know if any one has done a low carb diet for general fat loss?

I'm looking at getting rid of some timber and wondered if doing it combined with high protein, calorie deficit and intense weights/mma sessions would give me better results.

OP, that’s just the definition of a diet, a mix of all you’ve mentioned! Cut unnecessary carbs, alcohol and junk foods for much better and potentially faster results! I see no problem loosing 10+ kg of fat and increasing muscle density within 3 months!

I've been intermittent fasting, so no food after 8pm or before 12pm.

I was 17.3 stone a month ago and now I'm 15.12 stone.

If I went to the gym more regularly, it would probably be faster but I'm not in a rush.

Yes but make sure you incorporate low carb vegetables and not just protein and cheese.. salads with chicken and eggs oil vinegar dressing

Low carb you're not really worried on calories as your body uses sugar for energy firstly because that's easier..then it uses fat if there's no sugar/carbs present... People's issue is they have so much sugar carbs in their diet their body never hits ketosis... Which is the body using fat for fuel.

This is really helpful info - i'm grateful for this too!

I don’t diet per se but don’t generally eat a lot of carbs due to type 2. Still eat regularly but don’t consume bread, pasta, rice, potato, mass processed foods, sugary foods and the like. Also stopped eating low fat options and switched back to full fat. Eat lots of fish, avacado, berries, nuts, cheese (a LOT of cheese ), lentils, spinach, kale, broccoli etc.

Not easy but it’s been working for two years now; reversed my type 2 and lost 3 stone in the process.

Of an eggs…many, many eggs! Enough to make Edwina squirm.

Somewhere

Scientific data shows no difference in weight/fat lost when comparing high/medium/low-no carb diets when calories are equal.

You could lose the same amount of fat while still eating carbs and would likely perform better while doing so. Carbs are not the enemy and calories always matter regardless of protocol.

I'm on a carnivore diet for sibo atm but have lost 10 pounds in the last 6ish weeks on it. I did take a break to eat a jar of Nutella but that was necessary for moral
