Just read the news, so sad. And he must have lived the healthiest existence for the vast majority of his life. Just goes to show it can affect anyone. Fuck you cancer.

So sad. His optimism is inspiring. Both Hoy and his wife having terminal diseases is so sad for them and their children.

Isn't it awful that one family is hit by two horrible diseases

Just awful news. Always seemed to be a lovely guy, and made worse because his wife is so ill. So sad for their children.

I just read this morning his wife has been diagnosed with MS. Life can be so, so unfair and properly shit.

Echoing the OP’s comments, love and hugs to anyone dealing with any such diseases/conditions.

I read this last night, it's unbelievably sad to hear a terminal diagnosis for someone so enviably set on reaching the peak of human capability. Reading prostate cancer is in his bones, from his shoulder, ribs and hip is undeniably shocking.

The poor man.

His poor family, the children especially

couple, us we him her.

An amazing guy his dedication and enthusiasm have always been an inspiration.

Saddened reading the news and even more heartbreaking when you read about his wife as well.

Thank you Sir for all you have given to cycling and sport.

I hope his remaining time is as comfortable as it can be given the circumstances.

I'm still in disbelief at the news. Such an amazing human and has done since much to push forward many thing including sport.

He will have a swansong I'm sure but will be greatly missed.

Marc
