Over the rainbow, under the bridge

I've been going to zumba for two years nearly. Love it. It's great fun, burns loads of calories, helps you tone, and gives you energy. I usually do two hours a week, though have recently been doing 3. Along with changing my eating habits (I don't do diets), it has helped me to reduce from a size 18/16 to a 12/10. I did put on weight over winter - as I usually do - but am now reducing back to what I was.

I would recommend it definitely.

LOL sounds like my class - though to be fair there are quite a few younger people too. I think the oldest is in her 60s and the youngest are in their teens. It's quite a nice mix.

How long did it take you to lose that much weight I want to get back to my size 10/12 clothes at mo I'm between 14/16 depending on the clothes due to my big boobs so I could have a size 14 top but it feels tight around my boobs lol I don't want to lose my boobs just want to lose my belly and top of legs so my bum is more toned x

I am top heavy too - always take a bigger size on top. It took me less than a year I think. I really wasn't paying it much attention. Just kept noticing that my clothes were getting looser. I never weigh myself. It is more about size really.

It's not a quick fix - but then, getting heavy wasn't quick either - the weight had slowly built up. So, I suppose it is right that it should take a while to get it off.

The guy from my one to one weight session today could tell straight away I had no confidence, I told him point straight I hate myself, and I feel whenever I go out everyone is looking at me like I'm a whale, he told me in a lot smaller than some girls he sees, he also said it takes a lot for someone to seek and want help to get rid of the weight, I feel better in myself hearing that his happy with me seeking help just hate my body and everything about me. X

The class I go to has some very large ladies in it. The only skinnies are the teens! It will help you to become fitter and more active and that might help you begin to like yourself. But that confidence also needs to come from within. Have you considered counselling?
