If attraction develops with someone then it tends to stay there. Maybe there are some exceptions e.g. she turns out to be a serial killer, but maybe even then.

What kills it for me is betrayal of trust.

A few times yes, I think we build an imaginary personality for someone when we idolise them, then when you get to know them they don't meet expectations. I had a crush on a guy when I was about 18, he worked at the same company as me but I didn't really talk to him. I thought he was really fit and handsome, then one evening after work everyone went to the pub for a few drinks. I bit the bullet and got chatting to him, he was about 10 years older than me which didn't bother me really. When I got chatting to him he was awful! So boring, no charisma at all! Got instantly turned off and that was that!!

I was drinking cocktails in that gaff in Manchester laundry room or something it's called.

Great conversation, really intelligent and sharp, lots of flirting, wickedly sarcastic sense of humour. Gloriously sexy Polish accent. Then she started being outwardly racist about Pakistani people. She used alternative terminology and I am pretty sure she was referring to anyone brown.

I think I reacted like Jennifer Lawrence in the Diner scene in Silver Linings Playbook. I am pretty sure I said 'you are killing me'.

Then she proceeded to double down on it and try to justify her position as being rational. This was not a I am not racist but scenario... It was a full on wtaf am in at a white supremacist conference.

She got real ugly, real fast. It was the hatred in her eyes.
