Incredible that it’s more relevant now.

“Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate, so we can buy shit we don't need”

Too right. I’m going to watch it again. It’ll be much better now I’ve got a fucking massive telly to watch it on.

We rewatched it a few months ago with our eldest (who is now also a film nerd) and she loved it too. Definite top 10.

I fell almost disappointed in myself but there is something strangely appealing about Marla. The other half is disappointed in me

The book and film both hit a nerve as being very relevant today. That said I believe there are now a lot of disenchanted and disenfranchised women out there too.

So many great old films out there that the teenagers who work with me have never heard of.

A few that the 19 year old had never heard of, and film references that he had no vlue of because never heard of the films.

Gladiator.. i know, words failed me.

The truffle shuffle (Goonies)

Kyser Sozay (the usual suspects)

Freeeeeeedom (Braveheart)

Their parents clearly failed them if they haven't seen The Goonies.

You MUST educate them
