I friend of ours owns/runs the local chippy, and she always has cheesy chips on the menu - they're quite popular with kids, but she can't stand them!

Funnily enough, we gave her an ice-maker earlier, and was given a slap-up dinner as a thanks. Let's hear it for sausage-in-batter!

Ooh cuck yeah, sausage in batter is good!!

Cheese and chips really depends on the potatoes and the cheese.

Mary pipers?

Can't remember the name.

Our friend has the best chippy in town (and given that it's a seaside resort, there's fierce competition) and she only uses the best Maris Piper spuds for her chips.

She introduced liquor to the menu, and it's been ridiculously popular.

That's a thickened chicken & herb stock for the chips - nothing to do with "lick her", for those with a one-track mind.

That does sound good, nothing like a good chippy.

Most chip shops I've been in call it sausage in batter. Maybe battered sausage just makes for too easy a double-entendre.

Because I love cheese and I love chips? If the cheese is ass though it really falls apart.

I never understood this chips and gravy thing, even as a connoisseur of curry such as myself. Keep the two apart. They were never meant to be together.

What annoys me about cheese and chips is they all make it with the blandest mildest cheddar cheese.

You have to give it the strongest most flavourful mature cheddar.
