Gone and completely forgotten.

I had this years ago, when Virgin sent me two identical Sony mobiles. I contacted them, and they weren't interested. I gave one to my then gf.

I would put it away somewhere in the packaging and wait and see if they contacted me about it ..

We have had various items delivered incorrectly from Amazon, often with our name and address on. The problem is that if you haven't ordered it it's well nigh impossible to contact them to send it back.

I have heard that there's a scam around unsolicited Amazon deliveries too.

Quite often these are from third party sellers. They send stuff out and then leave a fake review for the product in the recipients name.

On the two occasions that I've had a double delivery, I've been told to keep both items although these were fairly low value (less than £100).

I’d send it back, not only because I’d probably have sleepless nights due to conscience but my thinking is at some point they will probably realise one of those is missing/lost/st0len from stock and I’d suspect it could be like a st0len mobile phone situation and it would stop working or it would be too hot for anyone to touch and I’d think 🤔 t would probably be traceable doe to the need of setting up a google account or whatever on it plus they each are serial numbered.

…..yea I probably think into these things / scenarios far too much and I’d worry myself too much over a knock at the door or vans parked outside my house to keep it or claim I had conveniently forgot I only ordered one, what if they realise the error? how on earth could I claim innocence, I ordered one and received two and instead of doing something or telling someone I knowingly said nothing and kept it dishonestly….. yea I’d probably be banned from using Amazon forever too …omg the anxiety would be far too much for me lol

I used to live in number 1 flat at number 1 street and would often have deliveries sent as companies would just put number 1 street. It was block of 4 flats, in an house and the numbers went up to 30 odd, so it’s not like I knew anyone.

I would often return them but when it continuously happened I stopped and left them in the hall for someone to ring the doorbell and collect. If they didn’t collect in a week or so, I’d look at what it was delivered.

I thought well if you’re stupid enough to not put the right address then it’s their own fault.

I got a Rocky box set on Blu-ray and a Huel protein powder and t-shirt

I would often get takeaway deliveries knocking too but always sent them away - too easily traceable back to me

If you returned one and their system says you have only been sent one then would they not just issue a refund (possibly).

The difference is with this, buyer bought item and they were delivered to a different address with my name as receiver, so that complicates matters?

If they buyer had given her name and home address for the delivery, then I'm assuming Amazon would find it easier to pursue?

Charging storage fees is acceptable, of course and may be more than the value of the item. They will probably not be asking for it and it's their responsibility to rectify their problems
