I've just recieved a week's ban off our towns local community Facebook group for suggesting someone uses Google, if they can manage to open Facebook, navigate to the group, and post a question about what time does the supermarkets shut on a Sunday.

Our Facebook group is very stereotypical of these questions. Very annoying.

Have you had any "shake your head, roll your eyes" posts on your local groups recently?

What time does it shut.

On ours there’s one person in a certain group that posts absolutely everything and it’s definitely eye rolling today the least. Seems harsh you getting a ban for stating the obvious op, I’d be with you in the sin bin

Not the North West...

Mine is comedy gold for the passive aggressiveness.

Wherever

Rather mellow mix of people asking for recommendations, someone is always complaining about potholes, foxes, burst pipes or foxes and someone has just found a single trainer.

I love where I live.

NORWAY Wherever I lay my hat

Mine is rammed with pertinent issues of significant importance: closed footpath, a thread about a community centre fridge and a loft conversion in a shared freehold property. Snoozefest

I kinda understand why they might've sin binned you tbh. Bit harsh but at the end of the day, why not just answer their question? It is a community group afterall and sometimes shops may post incorrect information on google or simply forget to update it.

Furthermore, if someone asks me IRL how to spell a word, I don't say, "Oh go look in a dictionary". I simply tell them how to spell the word, it is far more efficient and doesn't make me look like a snarky individual.

Although, people asking those questions over and over is quite annoying and you are right, they can easily consult google.

As for me, no, to me any question in those groups is a valid question and helping where I can does fill me with a sense of pride.

If this question was on annoying questions on this site however that I get in my DMs then I would very quickly delve into a huge rant.

I think some of it is the new fb rules - AI can't distinguish when its irony or clearly a joke

We often laugh when someone posts

'ambulance, fire engine and police car in X Road. Anyone know what's going on?'

And some wag always replies

'there's an emergency'

St Albans/ Welsh Borders

It's a hotbed for complainers...

McDonalds is a popular one, bitching about food being late/cold/missing

Bad drivers...

Nosy posts if there is an ambulance or Police presence

Bitching about the newly constructed double roundabout and bridge which will connect the town to a new retail park

North West

Currently people moaning about BRSK internet installing telegraph poles. Also useful information like when a road under the railway bridge is flooded (often). There's a few people who don't realise it broadcasts to all and sundry and post something meant for their family/friends, like "just had a delicious roast dinner with Maud and Michael" or suchlike. And complaints about takeaways and youths.

Also there's one person who posts every time they see a white van.

'white van behaving suspiciously. Driving slowly, looking down drives and frequently stopping'

That's the Amazon delivery person for goodness sake!
