So I was chatting with a couple that live locally to me. They seemed lovely and we talked about a social. Through further chats on fab it became apparent that local meant literally 200ft away. Benefit being not far to walk but it just felt to close…..

I emailed them and said that I loved our chats but this close just felt too close but let’s keep in touch. They responded by calling me a weirdo and blocking me… does that sound justified?

Nah, doesn't sound justified at all. Loads of people don't like to meet on their own doorstep, as it were, for much the same reasons as you.

Then again, everyone has a different notion of what is weird and what constitutes oddness. Usually people with very narrow mindsets

Sadly a lot of people on here can be vile when they can't handle rejection.

People only usually show their true colours when you tell them something they don't want to hear, sounds like you've had a lucky escape. Keep hold of your boundaries and make no apologies for it.

Agree with what's been said already.

I'm the same - I don't want to pop my head out of the front door to be met with someone on here. I like some degree of privacy and discretion!

People react in different ways to rejection (god knows we single women have dealt with a whole spectrum of responses), so it's best to just shrug your shoulders, remember it's them - not you - and forget all about it. Don't forget to block them back though! 😂
