I know this maynot be a new subject. But when you arrange a meet, you plan where you meet etc. a week in advance. You send the text the night before , and get no reply. You think to yourself oh well the person might not be able to text. (I had another appointment that day so it made no difference really that I was in the area) So arrive where i should be , no one or text to say "I carnt make it".

Has common courtesy gone out of the window now days.

Lol and I was annoyed as I was stood up 2x in the same day.

Room booked and all . grrrr. A waste of my time, energy and money.

My rant for the day

Twice in one day speaks more about how you are using the site, not the people your were meeting. I'd suggest you look at your vetting process for potential meets. You're the only common factor to your meets xx

i have to ask, why would you book and pay for a room to meet someone you had never met before, there for not knowing if you liked them or they would turn up?

that's not saying its your own fault as its not, i just see no sense in booking a room till you have met someone, what if they had turned up and you didn't like them or they didn't like you in the flesh, you've still wasted your money

OP - do I understand this right? From the way your post is worded, it sounds like you booked a hotel room without ever meeting the guy/girl/cpl for a social first?? If that's the case, then I hope that's a lesson you've learned. I would never book and pay for a room to meet someone I had not met for a social (at least) first.

Sheffield

A coffee meet somewhere handy but discreet can make life a lot easier - and if you don't click then it was just coffee.

This!!

It's all in the planning as you say - but in that planning should be a confirmation prior to travelling/booking rooms/absorbing any expense!

Otherwise even with the best laid plans you'll end up out of pocket at some point.

I'm lucky enough that I don't have to pay for 90% of my hotels through work travel and as such if I was to be let down (never happened yet - good planning!! ) I'd suffer no personal expense in terms of money, fuel costs or time! But on the occasions I'm travelling outside of work I'll be 99.9% sure those I'm meeting are genuine and will show up before booking, will keep in regular contact up until the day - and if said contact was to got whatever reason dry up or cease - I'd take that as a warning sign and cancel any arrangements!

Or of course look for alternate company! Or in the case of pre-paid hotel deals that can't be cancelled - work out whether to cut my losses and save on time/fuel - or go anyway and just find other ways to amuse myself!

The options are there to be taken!!
