I heard sounds from behind my fridge that sounded like a mouse not wanting to kill it I got humane traps but have ended up catching 3 tiny ones, I initially intended to just take them far enough away from the hoose and let them out but now I feel bad as they so young and may not survive so currently got them in an old fish tank gave them food and water and an empty kitchen roll tube to hide in

But what on Earth to do with them? Any suggestions haha I like them and dint want to harm them but can’t keep them in the house

The average litter size is 3-8 but can be up to 14 so there might still be more

You've become a mouse dad, congratulations.

Keep them until they are a little bigger and then take them outside.

I would say, 3 tiny ones is just a fraction. Could maybe be up to 14 per litter and the female can have a lot of litters over the year. I have had this problem in my old house, which was near lots of fields and farmland.

If you can keep the ones you've caught until they're bigger then let them go outside it will solve the problem of what to do with them.

There's no doubt that there are more mice in your house. There's no way these three were alone. Humans traps are lovely but they won't get rid of every mouse. If they become a problem e.g. chew through cables, you notice droppings on work tops etc you will need to take action. In that case I suggest contacting a professional for advice.

Aye it’s the combination of my hoose backing into trees/bushes and the fact the previous owner knocked through to the coal house and put the kitchen in there so was never designed to be habitable it’s due to be demolished in a few months when I start the extension so I never did owt with it

Thank you for being kind to them ❤️ As others have said, there’s likely to be more. The mother also usually comes back for the babies so could you put them somewhere where she would be able to get to them? I don’t think really young babies could survive on their own. If you manage to get the mother, you could then perhaps move them to elsewhere or call the RSPCA.

I’m always kind to animals I’ll even move worms out way when hand digging at work to avoid chopping them with shovel haha soft I know. I been trying to get the mother still have the trap baited and placed the tank next to where I caught them so she can find them. If I get the mother I’ll definitely relocate them together going to keep feeding them for now

Mom and dad will eat the babies if reunited, they do this as the scent has changed.

Keep them as pets and prepare to feed them as much as they need for a while, or clump them. They won't last in the wild though.

About 3 feet away from the fence

If you keep them for long enough they'll eventually start to think you're their mum.

At least at that point they'll be easier to house-train

Pull your fridge out and there will be a drip tray somewhere near the bottom that's where you'll find their nest . They like the warmth of the motor.

Anyone who really cares about their snakes wouldn't do that. Wild mice are full of diseases that we don't want to pass to our snakes.
