Just musing on the number of posts recently about people travelling and hoping to meet folks whilst they're away, and wondering if the forum is missing an appropriate travel section.

Oh yes I know, but I've seen so many in the Lounge lately asking if folk are going to be in X place on Y dates.

If that's case, why are you many posting in the Lounge? I mean it's not really an issue, but my logical brain wants there to be a specific forum for arranging holiday meets 😆

I think it's because people don't look at the various functions or other fora or because the Lounge is at the top and probably the most frequently read (therefore better perceived "hit" rate). I doubt a new space would stop the posts in the Lounge

The more sections that there are, the greater the likelihood that people will mispost in the wrong section, as it's a bit complicated for some people. Some people get it very wrong, such as the one posted in the Virus section this week, asking if anyone was traveling to Marbella, in a couple of weeks time.

Many of us are old hands in here but thousands don't post or might add an infrequent post.

The topic sections could perhaps get an overhaul. Travel s not a bad idea. You could potentially get feedback on it, in the Site feedback and Suggestions section, which the owners always view

I actually think there are too many forum sections already. I agree with other posters that the "Meet Requests and Parties" section is where the OP's suggestion would belong.

No I love to travel ,don't do it as much as I would like at the minute but I used to grab a bag and go .

Cooking section would be good too.

I agree there’s chance of mis-posting if too many sub forums BUT, often people post on the free for all Forum only to have a barrage of negativity

It's a good idea. I never look in the meets section
