So I've just seen a meme stating -

Halloween 2024 is on Friday 13th for the 1st time in 666 years.

All these scary numbers, it got me thinking who's superstitious? Does this mean anything to you?

Are there any people who still avoid certain things on Friday 13th?

I’m a superstitious person in that my family have raised me with cultural superstitions.

Shit like Friday 13th or anything to do with numbers or dates I honestly could not give a flying fuck.

I don't want to think about it, I know the date 😂 I'm repeating the meme and asking about superstitions.

What do you believe in superstition wise?

We got married on Friday the 13th.

We aren't superstitious but thanks to everyone else that is for letting us have the pick of the times for that day.

Our house move was delayed because someone didn't want to move on Friday 13th. Fuckers.

I love Halloween but somebody once said something to me that didn’t necessarily change my mind but certainly gave me another angle on it. It’s the only time you can see someone walking towards you down the street with a twelve inch knife covered in blood and you wouldn’t cross the road? I thought it was a bit heavy but they had a point…

Halloween is one of the best nights of the year. Autumn chill, hazy foggy misty evenings, spooky and yet comforting.

And of course, all those sexy goth ladies at clubs

Friday 13th was last month so unless it was February it’s impossible for it to be this month again. Maybe I’m thinking about this too much.

Superstitions and religion exist as guidelines for the stupid and gullible (imo) It's not bad luck to walk under a ladder but you're more likely to have something fall on you if you do, probably me if I'm up the ladder as I'm next level clumsy.

Black cats are my favourite cats. It's sad that people kill or abandon them because of this foolishness and magpies are delightful- who wouldn't want to say hello? It's the joy of seeing one that makes me do it not tbe fear of bad fortune if I don't.

My mother told me I was born on Friday the 13th and that meant it was a lucky day for me so I always looked forward to it.

Thirty years later she says 'no no that was your brother, you were born on a Thursday'.

Halloween is my absolute favourite time of the year. I love sharing all the creepy superstitions.

The Banshee has been a recent topic.

Just goes to show that we still have stupid people in this country (not you OP). Thousands of people will read that meme and think “Shiiiiiiiiiit” and tell all their morons, I mean friends, who will all go “Fuuuuuuuuuck”.

We really need to start taking warning labels off bleach.

And as for superstitions, they are rooted in a time when we thought witches were a thing. Walking under a ladder is unlucky for a reason.

Random point on this topic; 666 isn't the number of the Beast - 616 is the number given in the earliest known version of the New Testament. Scholars believe the number is a code used to refer to a specific person - in this case, possibly the Emperor Caligula.

I'm superstitious but not with numbers. 13 is lucky. Blackcats aren't omens.

But I salute magpies and don't spill salt so who knows.
