It's not a turn on or turn off to be honest, I've dated slim, muscular and large - if I like the person I'll generally like his body.

I've never been put off someone I like due to their size.

On here, just for sex, I want someone I'm physically attracted to so it would be more fitter bodies.

If I ever wanted a relationship again I'd want the same to be honest.

I don't find it a turn off or attractive. Not as a standalone thing. It's about more than someone's physical body for me.

If I like the person and they've got a bit of tummy, bit of squidge... I'll find it attractive because it's their body.

I find them sexy. More of them to hold and snuggle into. I also like the weight of a man on top of me, and with bigger guys that feeling is amplified.

I think in general there's nuance to fatness. There's fat but you can do the same activities that slimmer people do and then there is fat where it significantly impacts someone's day to day life. In all honesty there is a tipping point in my head with obesity and visual attraction without knowing them.

Well this isn’t something people on fab will agree with I don’t think.

A guy did a thread about this recently and people didn’t like the fact he was shocked that a big woman wouldn’t find big men attractive.

I personally think that people should be able to see beauty in their body type and in people with similar body types. But I think especially surrounding weight and desirability people are, whether they declare themselves immune to societal influences or not, forming ideas of desirability in society. They’re not innate.

My personal opinion is that fatter people are seen as less desirable generally. And I also think that the current idea of a dad bod and liking a dad bod has led to people conflating a curvier man with a fat man and using the attraction to dad bods as evidence of something. Dad bods described and that people display are often not fat people. They’re just not athletic or gym fit bodies.

And as for women we see it all the time. The women that we see on telly and on social media described as plus size are still often relatively slim or average women. Society, in my opinion, hasn’t *openly* accepted fat bodies as attractive or desirable. That’s why lots of men will fuck a million women they describe as ‘BBW’ but won’t date or marry one. And seeing people on a site like fab is weird because it’s a world of its own in terms of sexual desires. People on here are openly into BDSM but I don’t think that means it’s widely accepted as a normal, non deviant sexual act or desire. So I know people on fab will be attracted to different body types but I dunno I just don’t know if that is reflective of wider society. Thoughts?

Neither a turn on or turn off...to a limit. The people I've been intensely attracted to have been all shapes, sizes, heights, but they've all been relatively healthy. Some extra weight on someone who is fairly active is no deterrent for me if there's a spark. If someone looks uncomfortable, ill, lacking in energy, whether large or small, I'm probably not going to be physically attracted to them.

I’d say fat to me is like someone that clearly has a big belly or waist, big elsewhere as a result - as in they have a fair amount of fat on their arms or legs etc. I’d describe myself as fat. And I think it can go right the way up to someone that is yeah- unable to move or do regular activity easily.

No, I would disagree especially in regards to women's bodies. When I was 'young' thin/skinny was very much still fashionable. This has massively changed the past 20yrs. Gym fit women/curvier women, are now the desirable aspiration. Plus size is definitely bigger than what it used to be. Also vanity sizing is a thing. A size 10 is in no way what a size 10 used to be manufacturing wise.

It used to be mainstream clothing shops you'd struggle to get a 16, definitely not an 18. Most shops stock size 20 in most styles now.

I hear you but these aren’t evidence of bigger people being more desirable in my opinion. Stocking clothes that fit more people is accepting more people are bigger than they used to be. Not that bigger bodies are sexy.

Curvy women are desirable I agree. But curvy isn’t the same as someone being bigger. People still describe a size 14/16 as plus size (even on tv and reality TV). How obsessed in the last 20 years have the media been with women’s weight loss? fern Britain? Gemma Collins? Denise Welch? These are things I as a man remember. I’m sure for women my age or even younger can name way more. How much do you think society actually deems a size 18/20+ as sexy and desirable? More than in the past? I’m sure. But as in actively fits it into a typical standard of beauty? I’d argue no way.

Look at the discourse around Lizzo? The way people have talked about Jorja Smith gaining weight (to maybe a size 18?) how people have talked about Adele LOSING weight? Society finds curvy attractive now maybe. Big bodies are still not sexy or desirable.

La la land

I'm more familiar with the woman's perspective so will explain it using my experiences.

Plus size clothing, yes there is more choice etc but in general the women advertising them are larger but are just bigger build not far imo. So it's still hard to figure out how it'll fit on an apron stomach etc. So it's all a mind fuck when trying to buy clothes online which is the only way to realistically buy larger sizes.

I've been much bigger than I am now and much slimmer. People do treat you better in general when you're slimmer. Men will let me through in the bar etc without asking when I'm slimmer more of an eye roll when I was significantly bigger.

People complain about plus size women in the public eye whatever they do. Lizzo for example she is terrible because she's promoting obesity she's now losing weight and everyone is bitching that it's ozempic. Even if she's using medication she still has to work to loose weight.

On Fab general I think we're encouraged to label yourself as BBW in order to gain the fabs on your photo, as adding categories to your photos increase the amount of fabs you get. But the majority of those on the top of the hot pics tend to be on slimmer side. So to my mind Fab isn't that different to the general population.

I don't mind as long as they are comfortable in their skin. I probably would not entertain anyone who even struggles to see his cock over his belly though, unless they proved they know how to satisfy a woman regardless. The media is looking for news though - The Gemma Collins thing for example was ridiculous News articles constantly proclaiming her massive weight loss. Then showing pictures of her looking exactly the same every few weeks. A better example would be Scarlett Moffat who dropped lots of dresses sizes, brought out a fitness dvd, then later recanted and publically admitted she'd lost the weight by not the means she said, and regained all the weight.

She seemed to have more support for just saying look I'm naturally falling into the weight category I am, and I'm not prepared to make myself unwell trying to be something else again.

Also curvy if you ask most folk equals bigger boobs, bigger bum, lesser waist, round hips. So that's generally a bigger size on most people by natural body shape.

Could it be that some Women don't like being naked with a man that is slimmer, has less wobbly bits then themselves or like the visual of a Man being physically bigger in a protection/dominant way,

I do prefer Women similar size or smaller myself, I have 0 sexual attrition to bigger Women myself for similar reasons

"On here, just for sex, I want someone I'm physically attracted to so it would be more fitter bodies.

If I ever wanted a relationship again I'd want the same to be honest.

Call me shallow!"

And a pretty penis.haha love it

Some people just wear weight well. There are some “rugby” types that melt me.

There are some skinny Minnie’s that bro h out a different side in me.

I’ve had a few gym ripped lovers.

It is 90% personality though.

I (Caroline) prefer slim men generally. Overweight is ok, but big beer bellies are seriously off putting.

I'm fat. Can't change it. My body only loses weight during incredibly stressful situations. I'm big and tall, broad shoulders, so if that's what you like, we'll be all good

"People are attracted to others that they see similar to themselves so fat women will go for fat men. No gym fit woman is going to want a obese man (unless there's some serious daddy issues.)

That’s a complete load of bollocks.

And yiu are basing this on what? He has a point "

My own opinion. Also seeing the relationships/partners of loads of friends and family who have had encounters with those who look nothing like them, countless couples that you see in day to day life and in the media. Oh and that old saying… opposites attract.

This is me musing as I write and trying not to overthink this... Facial attraction is my big thing. I don't know if this includes an inbuilt 'fat-o-meter' but there does seem to be a size cut off for this. How much of this is actually me and how much is internalised cultural fatphobia I don't know. I don't like feeling shallow but I also can't fake an attraction.

I also know that for me missionary with someone putting all their weight on me is uncomfortable. It presses on my bladder and makes it hard to breathe.

The ellipses are just for you Pickle... 😘

Finally read the whole thread

I’m a big girl, does this mean somehow I’m only allowed to sleep with big guys? I should magically stop being attracted to people of different body types because society thinks so? Fuck off

What a load of bollocks that is. It seems transactional and that higher values are placed on only slim gym fit people than someone with a different body type, and that those people couldn’t possibly want to sleep with a curvy woman.

Not talking about personal attraction here, but the way some of this thread reads is that bigger people should stay in their lane because that’s what the people expect. Get fucked. If those are the opinions you hold, then that speaks volumes for the type of person you are.

I like all bodies, if I like the actual person attached to it. As my status reads, and has done from day dot, 'you don't have to be naked to be sexy'. Sexiness to me isn't body type, it comes in all shapes, sizes and different personality types

"And by the way there’s plenty of size 18/20+ people that are healthy enough to do regular activities and not need to be carried out of bed by a crane. "

I'm 16/18 and my occasional need for a crane (or human equivalent) is nowt to do with my weight/size. I was more or less the same size when I totally physically able.

"Pickle I think you know my answer to this question. I have no body size preference at all.

Body size is fine. Fat is a totally different issue, a different look a different health matter.....

Big yes ..... fat no

Granny, if you could compare the two people I most recently did the Sex with, you'd get how diverse my "tastes" are, which can include fatness. I'm not exactly slim myself

I got how diverse your tastes are. I was talking about my tastes. I don't judge overweight people. I don't fancy them either;not on sight anyway.

Granny, your non-silhouette avatar took me aback. It's wonderful to see your face "

Haa haaaaa don't make me laugh ! x It's four years old though. Hope you don't mind.

That’s simply not true. I see loads of gym couples that are complete opposites when it comes to body type.

I mean, I'm basing it on my own personal experience for a start. My husband and I have been in a relationship for almost 21yrs. We've always been vastly different in size/shape to each other and remain so now.

I've never been put off someone I like due to their size.
