So many favourites!

Right now I'm enjoying Nell Sweeney and William Hewitt in the P.B. Ryan books - aristocratic opium fiend and Irish immigrant governess solving murders in Victorian Boston.

I really enjoy Edmund Crispin’s novels featuring the English professor turned sleuth Gervase Fen. Alternately silly and quietly rather brutal.

DI Helen Grace.

DI Karen Pirie.

DCI Ryan.

If it’s done well, one of my favourite easy reading genres.

Miss Marple

A classic that unfortunately has been messed about with and diluted in character in most TV and films.

The adaptations they do on the wireless are very good

I just finished 'A Place of Execution' by Val McDermid. I liked the two main detectives in that but I've already forgotten their damn names 🤦

George Bennett! That's the one.

I have a really terrible retention for names in books.

That was the first of her books I've read (listened to on audible actually my eyesight is a bit dodgy so I find reading exhausting) and I was drawn in from the start. What goes on in that woman's head!?

Tommy Clough was the other one.

I didn't really find Catherine Heathcote believable

I have to say, the detail and the stuff she comes up with is terrifying 😬

^^ yes. She must do very detailed research. I have huge admiration for her after just one novel.
