When i was younger my partner did Ann Summers parties, when i booked a surprise weekend away to Dublin i just grabbed a suitcase and threw clothes in it, met her from work and went straight to Gatwick.

Yes, as part of the training it’s all discussed and detailed as to how to deal with these incidents discretely.

OP your items with batteries will not activate a search on the hand luggage unless you have other items in the bag which raise concerns (lots of wires, lube, massage oils, guns, bombs, knives, Marzipan, Semtex etc).

Make sure you follow the instructions at the relevant airport and you’ll be ok.
