Do you think??I think it looks brilliant! I also think it is amazing that these legends in their own times are doing something like this. A bit of a laugh and giggle...I will most definitely be watching it of the clips are anything to go by...

What is it OP"

A new 'comedy' with Sir Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi playing an elderly gay couple.

Frances De La Tour is in it too

I have seen 2/3 different clips now and it is just so sad to see them hamming it up with dreadful comedy lines.

I hope they had fun making it and I hope that the full experience is better than the clips, for our sakes more than theirs.

Fortunately, like any other TV programme, it's not compulsory viewing.

If enough people watch it then it will get a second series....if not then it won't.

Maybe Jacobi and McKellen agreed to star in it because they believed in the script?

The synopsis is that the lead characters have been together for 50 years and have fallen into a rut of sniping at each other - until a young lithe gay man moves into the same apartment block.

I'm on +1 and already disappointed. Derek Jacobi was better as Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy. I'll keep going and hope it improves.

The Town by The Cross

I enjoyed it.

It was pacey from the start and the writing and delivery kept the pace up all the way through.

I doubt other actors could have carried it off so well and it's certainly gender dependent for laughs.

It's predictability in parts made it somehow endearing.

I didn't find it limp wristed. I thought they were a couple of ascerbic old bitches; totally real to me.

I'll definitely be tuning in again.

Loved the Job Lot. I wanted to cry for the bloke trying to make a claim. That was so near reality it made me want to start a revolution.

I witnessed the final demise of sitcom on ITV tonight. It's been slowly creeping toward death for years. They finally managed it by 10pm.

The gay stuff was just embarrassing. I felt sorry for them throughout. But the more disturbing for us was the reinforcement of negative stereotypes in that job lot horse shit. Are we expected to swallow that it's a constant stream of dead beats and no hopers?!?!! Per-lease. Did David Cameron wrote this under a pseudonym?

And if I was a job centre employee, I'd feel a little insulted at the way the staff were portrayed.

Controversial as ever.
