Normalising men needing hugs

Honest opinions, in your normal day to day life, is it socially accepted if a guy was to openly admit they need a fucking hug without judgement?

I've gone past worrying what others might be thinking of me, and yeah I need a fucking hug more than I need or want anything else to be honest.

Among gay men it’s very normal. When I see friends we will hug and say hello with affection. I don’t understand, will never understand, why straight men can’t be warmer with one another.

Virtual hug sugar.

I don't know any reason why this wouldn't be embraced or accepted. Men don't have to be the alpha or have everything together all the time, they just need to feel it. Men's feelings are overlooked but they matter too

Honestly I'm so happy being single right now. But at times, particularly when I've had a bad day or had to be a dick, I'd pay good money to have a woman just let me hug her, or even better just lay on her lap - no words, just silence.

Yep! Completely normal. I'm a hugger anyway so all my friends / family get hugs but if a guy in my life told me he needed a hug, he'd get one without question.

Sending hugs to you OP ❤️

I love hugging my children both boys. Also female friends and partners.

However I have never hugged a male friend or colleague, and to be honest I’d find it difficult.

I also don’t know why, either

I’m confused with this. Is it not socially acceptable for men to have hugs? Are we talking about certain scenarios, like just randomly stating you need a hug during work to work colleague and expect them to give you a hug? I’m not sure anyone, regardless of gender would do that (well no one I know). I go want a hug, I will hug my loved ones. Never thought twice about it being someone I should question.

Obviously no two people's situations, lives and views are the same so the opportunity or ability to ask for a hug or open up and be comforted with a hug will vary massively.

Also, types of hugs are important? A quick manly but heartfelt embrace, full on squeeze for a few seconds or a full on embrace and your about to cry so try to pull away and get held tighter so cry harder until it's ok?

Totally normal, I love a good tight hug n cuddle, sometimes it's all we need, me and my male friends all work f'kin hard and hug when we meet up just to silently say keep going bro I got your back.

Men hug each other all the time.

I see them when they greet each other in the pub. The hug & head rub seems to be a standard greeting around here.

Completely normal in my generation. I give all my friends of all genders hugs and they hug me. I tell my partners I need hugs. I lay on their chest. I small spoon with them. I randomly ask for hugs. I don’t feel any type of way.

I work in what's considered by many to be a very 'macho' profession, but man hugs are a big thing. We go way out of our way for our Brothers, so a hug is a given without thought. Just the norm.

I see a guy who is in a seriously miserable marriage, stuck in a loveless, sexless even contactless relationship. They stay together for the sake of their school-age kids, but he hadn't had sex in over 5 years until he found me.

What he misses most are the hugs. When he turns up, we spend about 20 minutes just hugging, as he melts into my arms. It's a very basic thing which he's been deprived of, and the difference in his demeanor after is startling.

OK, the fucks with his 8", Viagra-enhanced cock are fantastic, but his emotional side gets all the attention he needs - with another round of hugs afterwards - and I think he values the bookending tenderness either as much or possibly more than the sex itself.

I get a lot of daily hugs from friends and family so I've never felt the need to ask for one; I wouldn't feel weird doing so though - hugs can change your day!

I met a random stranger last week and they were at a very low point, it was raining so I gave them a lift to the nearest town, we stopped in a carpark and chatted and they started to cry, I hugged then for about 5 minutes. When they left me they seemed a lot happier.
